Jazz opportunities at Oberlin are hard to beat at any LAC. Top notch. Our tour guide there was an Arts & Sciences student who still took jazz saxophone lessons from the conservatory.
Oberlin has also started a free shuttle with regular service to Cleveland: College Launches Free Transportation to Cleveland – The Oberlin Review
For a while my son was interested in jazz (he is doing music ed / percussion instead), and we found Knox College to have an amazing jazz professor and very flexible curriculum. The drummer for the UNT one o’clock band a few years ago was a Knox grad, that is probably the most coveted jazz drumset spot for students in the entire country. Knox is in reasonable proximity to Grinnell.
This is so helpful, thank you!!
Interesting, good to know this about Knox!
