<p>And, since I’m admitted by SIS, does that mean I can’t go directly into the double major program??</p>

<p>I believe SIS requires one to double major. Scholarship decisions wouldnt be out so soon. They need you to attend an interview session specifically for a scholarship. =) Good Luck!</p>

<p>got in to SIS, also awaiting their scholarship decision.Their is a compulsory second major (but not in the US sense which is degree here) which is different from a double degree. Not all students get the option of a double degree, and if u are selected for double degree it will be mentiones in the e-mail u received ( was mentioned in mine).</p>
<p>Ic, thanks for the info. A word of caution though. The so-called double degree in SMU isn’t really a true double-degree. According to my friends, there’s still the first degree and second degree distinction, and you take less courses in your second degree.</p>

<p>the differnce is in the second major and double degree. I asked them and they said that in second major u take fewer courses while in double degree u take the complete course for both, so if u do double major I dont think u really graduate with 2 bachelor degrees but if u take double degree then u have to take the full course load. major and degree are not one and the same thing…</p>
<p>erm i am not sure whether there’s a real double degree and a degree + second major options to choose from really. so far i have a few friends who go to SMU (do double degree) told me that it’s not a real dual degree… and they sound kinda disappointed, so I doubt they would have wanted to take the easy way out if they had a choice…?</p>
