About the UHP vs Hilltop:
I received Hilltop with 32 (34 superscored) ACT, 3.98 GPA UW, National AP Scholar, 13 AP Courses, 6 Dual Enrollment courses, and cheer coaching. My major is mechanical engineering in Lyle, and Iām Salutatorian. Received Provost
Did I receieve Hilltop bc UHP is within the Dedman College, and Iām in Lyle? Or, is there some sort of difference with the students selected for both programs?
Hey! I can help with this question. Hilltop and UHP are not affiliated with any one college at SMU. Hilltop is achieved with academic success, such as what you listed above with UHP being attached when there is what the university deems as outstanding and exceptional community service. However, this doesnāt mean you wonāt be a part of UHP. As a Hilltop, with the completion of Disc 1312 and 1313 (Youāll only have to take one if you got a 4 or higher on a Lit AP test) assuming that you finish first semester with a 3.5 or above (hard cutoff), you will be automatically invited to join the UHP. Now I will say, UHP does require additional required courses such as an extra Disc class among others which leads to many Hilltops deciding not to make the transfer into UHP (Me being one of them), however it is a prestigious program and Dr. Anderson along with others are continuing to further develop it as a distinguished academic and social group around campus
They are certainly still considered however you should know that should one get into presidential, it will override previous scholarships

Iād call but Iām in school. Iām an hour ahead of TX, so I can try afterschool but idk if I have time 
I think some people in past discussions from other years said the invite comes in the mail? thats what im assuming will happen at least

I just called and asked the office they said invites were NOT going out today. Students will be notified on their portal.
