Snow....again....in the northeast

You’re referring to weather, right?

Central CT and snow is just starting to stick to the roads (it’s been snowing steadily for at least 3 hours) Weather forecast still calls for 12-18" of snow, but I’m skeptical.

Could go either way @ChoatieMom! :))

NW CT. We have about 4-5 inches now…forecasts are all over the place. But I don’t think we will get a foot of snow.

@shellfell and @thumper1, so true that these CT forecasts are all over the place; we’re getting some impressive lightening now, loving this weather as long as the power stays on ^:)^

One of my friends lost power about an hour ago. She lost it for 2 weeks after Sandy and is understandably a bit squeamish.

D just reported thunder snow in New Haven

@thumper1, Is your husband home? It’s an unholy mess here.

Yep. DH got home about 4. He said our back roads were not plowed. No surprise there. Main roads were ok…but slick. He was in our Subaru.

It’s windy here now…but seems to be a lull innthe snow…or snowing very lightly. Unless I’ve missed something…I think the worst has passed.

But now they are sputtering about another storm…Monday!

I’m glad Mr. Thumper made it home. Bah humbug on another storm.

It’s New England. It’s early March. Why is this news?

@“Iron Maiden” not news…but really…the potential for three major storms in two weeks…no fun.

The good thing about snow at this time of the year…it’s pretty and doesn’t last long.

I just got home. The snow in Portland was melting as it fell. We have almost no accumulation here in that town south of MaineLonghorn. Less than half an inch.

Something will have to change big time overnight for us to get what they are predicting!

Wait, we’re getting another storm Monday? Yikes!

Still snowing in Boston.

Central Jersey - we have 20 inches of snow! One of the biggest snowfalls I can remember in my over 30 years in this part of NJ. Tree branches falling like crazy from the weight of the snow. We are lucky and have power and minimal tree damage. Won’t be going anywhere until they clean up all the trees blocking all the surrounding roads.

Can anyone give me a map link that shows how this is expected to progress? I don’t find any radar projections past, lol, 11pm. A lot of stuff from 12 hours ago or more.

Weather station says it’s coming down heavy now in my city. Nope. Just a light bit.

Accuweather says a total of 6-10 inches for us. I think that is less that the earlier forecast. I don’t think it is even snowing right now.

I am hoping that it doesn’t interfere with our having choir practice tomorrow night. We are singing a Mendelssohn piece (How Lovely Are the Messengers) at the memorial service of a dear friend on Saturday, and we really need to practice it. I am coordinating the reception, and if we lose power here I can just go to the church to cook, but nothing can replace choir practice!

We ended up with about 5 inches of slushy snow.

Most schools on LI seem to have a 2 hour delay; neither my school nor my husband’s (both Catholic HS) do delays.

So it looks as though today’s test might be a nightmare, with 1st and 3rd periods having LOTS of kids not in because their district (and the bus they provide) is on a delay.

Ah well, time to pay the piper. That’s OK; I REALLY enjoyed yesterday’s snow day!

They cancelled school for us. Ended up with about 8 inches but it is heavy and wet. We have power but lots of neighboring towns are out. I have a tree leaning towards my house and am very nervous that it will fall all the way.
