This reminds me of a song that I first heard a few years ago - “Drinking White Wine in the Sun”. I’m a northern hemisphere person, but it made me tear up a bit!
We are in western Michigan’s lake effect zone. I love, love, love snow, and never tire of it unless it’s May. I used to cross country ski, like snow-blowing my driveway. The somewhat main road is 2 houses away and the weekday plow goes through at 6.30 am. I’ll drive through just about anything in my Subaru Ascent.
So I’m sad our weather is low 50s, maybe rain, for Christmas Day.
The only time I was sad for snow on Christmas was the year my 4 year olds got bikes (didn’t stop them but it was a little hard on old Mom’s back.
It’s supposed to snow tomorrow and Sunday, so there will probably be some left for MOnday.
Southern Ontario. No snow here at the moment and not likely to be any for Christmas. Christmas doesn’t feel like Christmas to me without snow. Not a crazy amount but more than just a dusting.
My grandchildren are hoping for some snow and cold weather! Their parents built them a BIG hockey rink in the back yard. It is too warm to make ice. They’re so sad!
I like snow - I grew up in a city with about 85 inches of snow each year.
Lovely. The only 2 days with snow predicted in the next week are both of our travel days!! And the prediction for our return day is significant.
Wisconsin here. I dont mind snow but hate icy roads now that all 3 kids are driving. But thankful we live in an area that treats road conditions well.
We had to postpone going out to my dad’s yesterday due to torrential rain. He called this morning to say that it’s still pouring there (hour-and-a-half from us) and prefers we make another go/no-go call after noon. If we don’t go today, we won’t be able to go until after Christmas. I hate disrupting our dinner tradition with him and his wife, but safety first. The desert sure can use this rain, but flash floods are a real thing here as are weather-challenged drivers. Looks like it will be sunny and 62 degrees on Monday. Sigh.
So it was 54 and sunny on Christmas Day. The grass is now green, the ice that usually shows up on the shore of Lake Michigan New Year’s Day isn’t happening.
Crazy maybe but great in my mind
Love Tim. Saw him many years ago in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, he is a great actor too!!
50 degrees here today. Green grass and no sign of snow…which is fine with me!!
I got a report that there is no snow at all in the mountains where our cabin is. The logging roads in the area are usually impassable by the end of November.
We still don’t have any snow, but the GS and GD are so excited that it is finally cold enough to flood their backyard hockey rink.
It’s not even that cold in Maine! We’ve had upper 30s and rain the last few days. More today.
