<p>I cleared out my long driveway. The early snow caught me off-guard. I had decided that I shoveled enough last year and planned to arrange a snow-plow to come this year.</p>
<p>We are staying with my parents. H plowed my parents’ 200 yard driveway. It took him a few hours even though we only had 6 inches. Since I have rented a SUV, I took D1 to the local mall. We were so happy walking around it because hardly anyone was there. But I knew this happiness was not to last long. </p>
<p>When D1 was happily trying on 50% off merchanidse, I got a buzz from our airline - flight cancellation for tomorrow. I quickly told d1 to wrap it up so I could get online because I knew it was going to be ugly. We had 4 people traveling back to Mexico, and it wasn’t going to be easy. I called every Continental number(4 phone lines on) and hit the website. It took me 6 hours to get all of us out of here on Thu, 2 first class tickets, and 2 coach. Never thought I would say this, but I am ready to go home to Mexico (75 F) and sunny.</p>
<p>Neighbor’s D & her friend were en route to Israel and have been stuck at JFK since yesterday morning. Hope they get to take their trip …</p>
<p>Young man I mentor (attends Columbia) stayed in NYC for the holidays. He texted yesterday to tell me he is trapped in his room. I know he will appreciate the beauty of the situation … certainly more so than the young ladies who are trying to get to Israel!</p>
