Very warm here as well, though we still have a lot of snow on the ground where I live, in the city there is nothing. I really hope we have an early spring this year, we have had several springs where winter wouldn’t end (I literally could not plant until later in may, my supposed last frost date is may 15, and we got a frost on like may 20th!), I want to be able to get my early season crops, like cucumbers, in early enough to get good production from them.
Course the cynical side of me saws ma nature is setting us up for the sucker punch, we’ll get some warm weather, then she will turn on the freezer coils and make us pay for feeling like it is spring:).
I always marvel at how whenever there is a looming snowstorm , all the stores have a run on shovels. What happened to the ones we should already have ? I know ours usually end up at our shops ( thanks DH )
Today was 65 degrees and I decided to clean my daughter’s car inside and out. She has weather tech mats that I would normally hose down. Went into our garage and realized our hose that is attached to the wall was gone….my husband took it to one of our shops to clean up after last week’s floods. Luckily , I could use the utility sink to rinse the mats off
The predicted Groundhog Blizzard II has not made its appearance here in southern Wisconsin, but we have been getting thunder snow. The dog does not like it.
MaineLonghorn , we never made it up to Maine last year to check out the college my daughter got accepted into because the snow just wouldn’t let up…I am sure it is a relief to you as it is to my daughters in Boston…only my family on Cape Cod has had any measurable snow this season
I was hoping that we would be done with winter but it looks like another snow storm tonight. Wonder what havoc it will create in commuting tomorrow. This MD/DC/VA area should be getting good with dealing with snow but all I can do is cross my fingers for tomorrow. Gas station crowded this evening and same with the grocery stores. Just glad to be home.
I’ll find out when I head out at 5 am to Maryland from Fairfax. The weatherman on Ch 9 just said that temps should stay above freezing tonight around the metro area. Crossing my fingers.
We have temps in the 80s this week in the Los Angeles area. We were supposed to get big El Nino rains this winter, but so far, no.
Mountains are getting snow, however, which is what will help our water situation. But we need more.
Kind of warm, sunny and very windy in the Dallas area. We haven’t had much rain since the new year - thank goodness. Our local lakes (all flood control artificial lakes) are still brimming.
Good thoughts to all facing another round of snow and ice!
We are supposed to get some snow here ,although no on seems that concerned . Once again, flooding has the spotlight here. I don’t think it’ll be as bad as it was a few weeks ago , but it’s a nuisance to a lot of folks
I suspect we will get enough in Maryland to make the commute painful, but we will have to go to work. I hope it doesn’t get worse once I’m at work. I hate driving in snow, even though I have an AWD sUV.
