CWG is indeed excellent. Heaven for weather nerds.
Glad we replaced our furnace at the end of November!
The cheapest seats for Caps-Pens on Sunday have dropped from $80 last night to $51 on StubHub. They were $60 two hours ago. S2 wants to see a repeat of Snovechkin.
To answer your original question, Marian, I think people stock up on cold staples if they don’t usually lose power during snowstorms but know that the streets are going to be bad for a while.
We live in NJ but didn’t lose power for even a minute during Sandy, so I don’t automatically assume we are going to lose power on account of a storm (knock on wood). But driving and parking (especially parking) get nightmare-ish, so I try to not have to go out for staples for a while after a storm.
I HATE getting gas in the snow for some reason. And a full gas tank adds weight that can help on slippery roads. Luckily, I needed gas yesterday, so I’m full.
@busdriver11, there are some really good restaurants in Baltimore. Amicci’s in Little Italy is one of our favorites. It might even still be restaurant week, where many restaurants give special deals, but I’m not sure.
Im not at all worried about the snowfall where we live, but I AM really worried about the flooding. We took a beating during Sandy with our business. I don’t want to go thru that again
Wow, I have snow on my deck. We live between DC and Baltimore. I am happy to report that FINALLY, after totaling his car in a weather related accident last year, my son took my advice and did NOT go out tonight. He is also leaving tomorrow to drive back to college, instead of waiting til the weekend.
I didn’t see the PA part of the path of hardest hit…I heard Baltimore, DC with the coastal area getting less snow and more damage. Snow can be plowed, wires will be replaced when they are downed.
No kidding thumper ? I guess our news is just more focused on the shore….we will know once it’s done. Philly hard core snow would be good for us , and that is admittedly a selfish thought
