A snowstorm could drop over a foot of snow from the midwest to the east coast over the next couple of days. Looks like some lucky kids will be getting a day or two off from school. :)

Yup, my kid’s private school just called only the third snow day in the 18 years I have had a kid at the school.
The snowplows are numerous and efficient in our area. No work for me as well. Just came in from the first pass with the snowblower, sitting with a cup of chai latte while the kid sleeps in.

You know, I think I agree with a radio news host’s opinion this morning that our expectation of snow events has gotten out of hand. Several times this winter we’ve had predictions of end of the world types of snowstorms, when it turned out to be a one or two day event that quickly disappeared and was as quickly forgotten.

On morning TV, Charlie Rose of CBS News looked as if he had announced the JFK assassination when in reported on the coming midwest storm. It’s a bit much.

LakeWashington,

I agree that the media blows snowstorms, as well as other news stories, way out of proportion. But hey, they want to get the ratings!

I always get excited about snow. I’m like a little kid on a snow day.

Snow days are not lucky here - they have to be made up, either by losing days off an already short spring break, or tacked onto the end of the school year. Much better to only have a 2 hr delay, which it looks like we may have here tomorrow!

The weather folks here sure get excited though.

It does sound like Maryland is going to take a hit between tonight and tomorrow!

Gotta check the weather reports. It’s a clear, sunny day here and hard to believe that’s going to change soon. Cold, but not unbearably so.

Have travel plans at the end of the week, with folks coming together from all over. Hope it clears by then.

The forecaster for my area isn’t showing info on this storm. Yes, rain coming tomorrow, but now big snow flakes or winter advisories in place.

Boston 3-6, outside 6-12.

Doesn’t sound like a big deal to me.

It doesn’t appear that this snowstorm will have a huge impact on the NE like the one that dumped a couple of feet of snow in February.

It’s supposed to start with rain here this evening, then turn to snow. Outdoor sports practice tonight won’t be fun! If it lasts all night, a few extra hours of sleep tomorrow will be appreciated. More snow predicted south and east of Pittsburgh.

DD is flying to Seatac on Thursday from CT. Hope this is all gone before she is scheduled to leave!

One reason this snowstorm won’t be much of a deal is that the week after it we’ll have temps in the 40s. This stuff should melt really fast.

We’re on the edge so we aren’t sure whether we’ll get lots of snow or just a little bit. Guess we’ll know tomorrow! DS is hoping for snow so he can make some cash shoveling walks!

We can’t afford any more snow days. We already have school until June 28 (final weekday in June) and can’t go any later. We’ve already lost 2 days from our April Vacation, and cleanup from the February storm WAS our winter break.

I’m departing from Dulles on Friday evening. This storm better be a distant memory by then.

I’m beyond done with the snow. Not just for the season but forever. This one is missing us, luckily, but I am just so done.

Mother Nature, calm down.

Just heard that 1400 flights have already been cancelled in Chicago.

I wonder how things will be at BWI. When things get fouled up there, the whole of Southwest Airlines gets botched up. It looks like Maryland is going to get some snow. As noted by others, the good news is this snow won’t be around long as the temps will go up.
