So close to d-day

the stress is ridiculous!!!

you guys have to remember the extension of the priority deadline to november 8th though. that could affect the date we receive our decisions

I think they will release them on the 31st  As much as the 27th sounds appealing, it seems unlikely. Especially with the Nov 8th extension.

found this in another umd thread but thought i’d bring it into the general thread to talk about:

is this actually true? i remember our info session woman told us that regular decision was much more competitive because they fill 90% of the slots through priority but they say that 90% of applicants apply priority, so it’s either 90% of the applicants competing for 90% of the slots of 10% of the applicants competing for 10% of the slots…so shouldn’t it be the same difficulty?

I don’t think they could use that as an excuse. The affected areas were not that numerous, in addition, unlike last year which was just a mess, the weather has been non-existent.
I’d love for it be tomorrow, but if it wasn’t, I wouldn’t be that surprised, just annoyed.

I agree with Nuplex. Some colleges send out emails telling you the exact date and time when the decisions will be up. I wish college park would do the same

A friend of mine just posted on facebook that she got into the University of Maryland. Later on in the comments, she said that it’s baltimore county not college park… needless to say, I FREAKED out. my obsession/level of anxiousness and excitement is unhealthy.

Seems like the last few years decisions have always been released on a Friday or Saturday. So maybe there’s still hope for tomorrow…If not, Tuesday will come eventually!

The excitement and nerves are driving me insane!! UM should posts decisions soon, save us all a few heart attacks.

Saturday is still possible.
I looked back all the way to 2005 and they’ve always had it on Friday or Saturday. 2011 was just off. Either way, the wait won’t be that long…

Yes Nuplex Yes! And when you looked in past years around what time did it come out on saturday???

i heard that if it were to be on a saturday…it would be at noon…is that correct?

It varies, but around Noon time on Saturday.
Don’t get to excited, ready yourself for disappointment.

fingers are crossed! very best of luck to everyone. hopefully…tomorrow will be the day!

are you guys sure that the admissions office will be working on a saturday? if they dont usually come in on saturdays, i would think that we would just get our decision on monday or tuesday right?

@Falcon5
They don’t work on Saturdays, or at least you can’t call them on that day. However, in 2010 decisions were released online at noon on Saturday, January 30.

oh so i guess they have some sort of system where they can electronically send decisions to your portal. thats great! the possibility of getting a decision tomorrow is pretty high then.
and man, all this talk about the possibility of a decision tomorrow is pretty exciting; i dont think i will be able to sleep…which is a good thing though, cause then i’ll sleep in and wake up to a decision haha.

I don’t know if it’s completely pertinent, but the admissions website has been updated to say Fall 2012 and Spring 2013. There are “Congratulations!” everywhere. Has it been like this for a while or am I just noticing now? If it’s new then I guess thats a good sign o:

EDIT: When you go to Admitted part and such.

where exactly does it say that?
