My school is constantly losing teachers and gaining old ones. Last year about 5 teachers left in the middle of the year and some new ones were gained. This year 3 OUT OF OUR 5 GUIDANCE COUNSELORS LEFT. Luckily, mine (who really likes me) is still here. Also, an English teacher who taught IB English decided to leave a week before school started. I don’t think this is normal behavior for a teacher. Can anyone confirm that this isn’t what a school’s staff acts like?

wow your school has problems lol…

We’ve been getting a lot of new teachers lately, but it’s more because some of our teachers are at the age to retire or are getting promoted to positions in the District.

Yeah, that’s kinda weird…XD

swim2daend,

That’s very normal. It is normal for anyone to leave for better opportunities/employment

We didn’t lose a teacher this year, but we did get another math teacher…

at my school we’re losing teachers either because theyre retiring or theyve found new job opportunities such as teaching at a community college or university. its pretty normal…
except i think the whole 3/5 of ur guidance counselors leaving is a bit much

My school has hired a couple of new teachers this year because we had some old teachers retire and some others move on to new/different jobs. The school’s also growing in size.

3/4 of our guidance department is new this year, which is annoying.
