cheesy Scopitone videos on youtube

DougBetsy,

I too play Mega Millions. I think of it as a movie ticket that provides me with 3 days of entertainment trying to figure out what to do with the money.

House - I am addicted and I only started watching in February.

Grilled Cheese with Ketchup??? Hmm gonna have to try that one…

I love grilled cheese (Jack or Provolone) with Basil pesto on sourdough…

Martha Stewart
The Container Store
Stationery
Singing in the Car
A well-tuned Steinway concert grand in a dark hall with nobody around to hear me play and play and play…
A good pair of headphones
A glass of Brachetto d’Acqui and a chilled slice of chocolate cake
A brand new felt-tipped pen
The satisfying crunch of a stapler as it bites into a newly-completed set of calculations
The two glorious days in between the start of spring weather and the start of allergy season
Having someone say “thank you” for something that I’ve done for them, or smiling at someone on the street and having them smile back, too

Wow, I love those, aibarr! Especially the crunch of the stapler item. I was going to post something totally prosaic, like cupcakes made for my family, instead of those being made for an entire school class (except, that very rarely happens).

Letting butter soften overnight on the counter and creaming it in my jumbo KitchenAid mixer
Bluegrass music, as a few of you have said
White bread toasted, with real butter, sprinkled with sugar
Raindrops on roses
Whiskers on kittens

– Oh, sorry; got carried away.

Solitude, a good book, and a glass of wine in my temporarily clean house.

At least 2 good laughs each day.

Every now and then when I have business in the city during the day, after I am done I like to pig out at Chinatown. I stay away from fancy places but go to where locals in the know go. You can have a great, sumptuous meal for so little money, like braised lobster with ginger and scallion and the freshest pea shoots in garlic sauce you can imagined. I down my sumptuous lunch with giant bottle of tsingtao beer and tip my waiter well. You’ll walk away satisfied and full.

Sudoko for sure.

My favorite movie is Cutthroat Island (<a href=“Cutthroat Island - Wikipedia);%5B/url%5D”>Cutthroat Island - Wikipedia); I probably watch it twice a year, just for the deathless dialog (an example: “Die, Dog, die!”). Worse, I make my friends watch it with me.

My dog-less friends (literal dogs here) are astonished when they find out that I adore walking in the rain with my dogs. I look forward to rainy days so I can have the paths all to myself.

In the summer, I can eat an entire flat of raspberries in one sitting.

dmd77 – Cutthroat Island…THAT is the sickest thing I’ve read on CC ![]()
Then again…I watch STRANGE BREW at least twice a year.

dmd77, what do you wear when you walk the dogs in the rain? I had to do it today and I got soaked. No fun.

After seeing the “I don’t get it” thread, I was going to start a “guilty pleasure” thread, but I see someone has beat me to it.
When I’m at the gym on the treadmill, my guilty pleasure is watching the food/cake/Iron Chef, etc., competitions on Food Network to counteract all of those positive point from going to the gym!

Back in my college days (so loooooooong ago) my guilty pleasure was Kitcat bars from the vending machine and Cosmo from the drug store next door while at the laundromat. No nutritional value to either one.

1- stale, frozen Peeps

2- buying 75% off candy at CVS the day after Halloween

3- mindlessly watching the Phillies night after night (they do keep winning though)

Chocolate cake and diet Coke… for breakfast
Bugles anytime… crunchy, corny goodness
Taking a nap on my front porch
Doing the NY Times crossword puzzle when I am supposed to be doing something else

Great thread!

Way too much nutrasweet – diet fudge pops, diet hot chocolate, Crystal Light, etc.

Watching “Liar Liar” w/Jim Carrey time & time again & laughing hysterically. (I never watch movies more than once).

Twilight book series.

Spending way, way too much $ to upkeep my hair (but I’ll shop for clothes at consignment when I have time!).

Raw chocolate chip cookie dough eaten with a spoon right out of the package.
(At least it was until the salmonella scare
)

“chick flicks” I love watching anything w/Meg Ryan and Julia Roberts - it all started with Pretty Woman.
Please don’t tell my friends! They’re more into foreign films and more “cerebral” stuff, etc…
