So What's Your Secret Pleasure?

Twilight series, and Sookie Stackhouse books (I’d watch True Blood, but we don’t get HBO… but I’m thinking of renting the DVDs for season one).

America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Dibbs.

A variety of embarassing music (I like some Miley Cyrus songs, and my daughter nearly died of embarassment when she found out I had “Oh My God” from Legally Blonde the Musical on my iPod).

People Magazine.

Say Yes to the Dress!!! It’s on TLC (home of Jon, Kate and the eight). D2’s teacher was on the first season and my friend’s niece will be on this season.

I’ve been known to buy wedding magazines when depressed, and even joined The Knot to view dresses. Is there a support group for this?

I have to fess up… I do listen to 107.7 The End and C89.5… :o

zm, I think my D has a similar addiciton - wedding dresses. Nope, she is not planning on getting one any time soon; she just likes to look at them and collects catalogs.

Lafalum, I like AFHV too!

Broadway Music
SweetTarts
Magazines (i.e. Good Housekeeping, Womens Day, etc.)
Pricing apartments on Upper West Side in Manhattan (prefer Central Park View)

Lafalum, we don’t have HBO either, but D has watched all previous episodes on line for free, and not illegal either. She is gone to the beach for a few days, but if you want I can ask her for the website.

I have mucho Disney music on my ipod. And I’m not sorry, either!!!

(Under the Sea, Under the Sea, darling it’s better down where it’s wetter)

websurfing airfrance.com and pretending to book vacations I can’t afford
searching frenchproperty.com and pretending to buy that retirement chateau in Brittany

Picking blackberries and immediately making a pie.

Any movie with Jimmy Stewart.

Western novels. Robert B. Parker novels. And now there are westerns BY Robert B. Parker - SWEET!

Ha, I love this thread!

Playing computer adventure games with my daughter. We finished the Longest Journey series a few weeks ago and are now working on the Syberia series. I feel guilty because I should probably be reading to her or building something with her instead, but we love our adventure games. And it’s not easy for a middle-aged man to find common interests with a nine-year-old girl, so there it is.

Reading Dilbert. I keep a stash of Dilbert books in the bathroom closet. If I’m in there more than five minutes, you bet that’s why. I’ve read the same ones a dozen times and never tire of them.

GA2012, if you wanna PM me with the website, that would be great! The official website has brief glimpses of the show (90 seconds of “Previously, on True Blood…”) accompanied by very detailed plot synopsis. It’s interesting to see how some parts of the show and dialogue are lifted straight from the books, and other parts are completely different.

Another guilty pleasure - Harry Potter. Just got back from watching HP6. I enjoyed it, but I’m glad I re-read (skimmed through) the book first, or I’d have been lost.

My Kindle stocked with WAY too many books.

Sigh… Make that Hawaiian Airlines for me… I’ll be websurfing for a looong time before I can do some real surfing. The dog’s vet bill can be described in one word -
