<p>I enjoyed all the non-skinny and/or over-40 female singers who were featured…Shirley Bassey (76!), Barbra Streisand (70!), Catherine Zeta Jones, Jennifer Hudson, Adele…they were really the high point. </p>
<p>I wish that Queen Latifa or Octavia Spencer would take Melissa McCarthy under their wings/to their stylists to show her how to dress a bigger body. Queen and Octavia looked curvy and proud and Melissa wore yet another long sleeved, high neck sack.</p>

<p>Now… I watch and see how uncomfortable some of these stars are in their own skin. Kirsten Stewart could barely speak and was unable to look into the camera. It was painful to see. </p>

<p>Boob song was funny but it makes me a little angry…there isn’t really a male equivalent, because full frontal below the belt nudity for both genders is pretty rare. The “I saw your junk” song for guys would be pretty short.</p>

<p>I could hear the usual CC suspects’ back- bristling as soon as they cut to the First Lady. There was nothing political about what she said. It was a plug for the impact of arts. </p>
<p>Kristen Chenowith was insufferable, but her voice was less whiney in the closing number than I have heard it. </p>
<p>I thought MacFarlane did a good job. I would have rather heard him sing the numbers from Les Mis than the people who sung - except for Aaron Tveit. I have not enjoyed any of Jennifer Hudson’s recent performances. She seems to push everything these days into a scream.</p>

<p>I thought she looked and sounded stoned out of her mind but I heard later she has a foot injury and was on crutches so maybe had a few pain pills in her system.</p>

<p>Loved Shirley Bassey – she started out shakey, but finished wonderfully. I can’t believe she’s in her 70s! She looks amazing… as did Barbra Streisand… two classy broads, they are…</p>
<p>Have not read the whole thread, but I am always happy to see the nominations for Foreign Film. These are films we are not exposed to otherwise, and I try to look for them after on DVD or on cable.</p>
<p>I was thrilled to see there was a Kon Tiki movie made. Oh my goodness, I must see this movie. Looks amazing.</p>
<p>I fell asleep before the end, but was able to catch the In Memoriam, one of my favorite parts, and was in tears at Barbara’s performance. I so remember the times when she and Marvin worked together and the wonderful movies they made and songs they immortalized. It’s going to be rough when Paul Williams dies. As Jennifer Garner says, I will be a puddle.</p>
