OP, don’t think you’re still reading this but I saw a wonderful movie called Adam yesterday that might interest you.

Krlillies, did you see the episode where Amy wants to move in with him?

Sheldon doesn’t always have all the power. There was an episode where Leonard opted out of the roommate agreement and Sheldon was clearly bereft even though he couldn’t admit it. He spent the episode wooing Leonard back, in his Sheldon-ish way.

Bumping this thread to link an essay from today’s NYTimes magazine, which answers what one guy, who came to the show late, thinks is great about it: <a href=“I Love ‘The Big Bang Theory.’ And You Should, Too. - The New York Times”>I Love ‘The Big Bang Theory.’ And You Should, Too. - The New York Times;

Leonard and Leslie Winkle both seem to have gotten significantly smarter since the Rosanne show. At least I think that’s them.

I loved it when it started. I’m a bit meh now, but I still watch it. I loved it because intellectually, that’s the kind of environment I grew up in - smart and geeky might not generally have been cool, but among the people I hung out with, it was social currency. “I feel like an inclined plane wrapped helically around an axis” is something that any of us would have been proud to come up with.

I began to like it less as it moved towards sex/relationships. It was probably necessary to add more depth to the characters, but then it stopped being about the science and the quirks of the people who do it. In my experience, there’s enough truth in the stereotypes that they don’t bother me. I’ve known someone like Sheldon and someone who in many ways is like Howard, and many people who are in many ways like Leonard and Bernardette.

I LOVE Big Bang theory. Sheldon and I are basically the same person. I like the nerdiness of the show. I wouldn’t call myself a nerd but I like math and science so I relate a lot to the show. It reminds me of my group of friends. I just think its so hilarious. It makes me excited for physics next year

I like the show, but still not sure if the show is laughing WITH us or laughing AT us (spoken as a science geek). I think they oscillate between the two.
