social life

I know there are already threads on this but none of them say anything about athletes. My question is is the social life better for athletes than what the people on the forums say (bad social life)

You had a gazillion views but no replys - oh so sad! So I will reply as observer w a S and niece and several friends who have kids currently there, all types of kids, athletes included. All of them are loving their experience. Campus security is very strict on drinking on campus and they do wait for kids to get out of the cabs to give them security (drinking) checks. A bit over the top but then again kids do stupid things too. Taking cabs is smart though!

Anyway, the kids seem to work around it. It’s tougher on the freshman guys, the girls get into the parties. Freshmen guys go downtown to Philly, Temple, Drexel and to UPenn parities. (Cab fare is expensive they share it) I hear that is the case for many, many schools not so much big flagship state universities. The trade off is you are in huge classes and can bomb out & nobody cares. Smaller school give you the academic advisor who watches out for you (at least a Villanova).
My niece called it Villa oh so fun - when she was a freshman. Good luck

The “villanofun” thing is just stupid. Somebody, a fan of a rival, came up with a lame joke because there is a “no” in the name. How would something so lame get legs? Villa no pants would be more fun and equally accurate.
