Someone shooting up LAX?

[Report: Gunshots fired at LAX Terminal 3](http://news.msn.com/us/report-gunshots-fired-at-lax-terminal-3-1)

Fox Sports columnist Bill Reiter happened to be there and is live tweeting. I don’t think I can link but it’s easy to google.

Wonderful. :(

Sigh. Because travel isn’t stressful enough…

oh great…

One TSA dead.

News just reported that the shooter was also a TSA agent who knew the person who died. This seems to have been personal.

Despite the public setting, that seemed from the beginning like the most likely explanation.

I hope the bullets knew that.

Since several other people were hurt, clearly not, 07DAD. But it doesn’t appear to have been part of any larger effort directed at travelers. I think that’s important to note.

Aside from the shooting itself, there’s a possibility of being trampled to death in stairwells, etc that comes with panic. Doesn’t appear that there’s any injuries like that, thankfully.

Too scary. Too common.

He (who shall not be named) now is being described as a 23 yo “anti-government” guy with an assault weapon.

Terrific…family member flying home from New Mexico today. Hope there are no further injuries at LAX…and that air traffic isn’t all snarled up as a result.

What kind of crazy world do we live in. And HOW did someone with an assault weapon get IN the airport?

A bit about the shooter:

[EarthLink - Top News](http://enews.earthlink.net/article/top?guid=20131101/adbed8cd-56b2-4835-8c6c-b6965f81869b)

Thumper, maybe it was in a carry-on type bag and he took it out once he got near airport security. Or maybe hidden under a coat.

I can’t imagine he walked into the airport holding in weapon in his hand.

Oh no…how terrible. It looks like many flights have been cancelled or delayed.

thumper I flew home from New Mexico yesterday through LAX to SFO.

Just like the Aseana crash, LAX passengers were fleeing with their luggage.

Dude, when someone is shooting at you, let go of the wheelie bag…

Sounds like it was a very scary time for all the passengers and a lot of chaos. Glad so few were injured. Very, very sad.

Was just thinking how pleasant our three flights over the past two weeks have been. I was pre-screened so didn’t need to remove my shoes. Didn’t need to take off belt, light jacket or remove electronics or bag of liquids.

S, D, and we fly thru LAX a lot, so glad it was so in eventful. D will be flying back into LA in the near future, hopefully after things are calmed down again.

Husband is in the air right now. All I can do is pray for his safety.

I am sure everyone else is fine- same risks as any other day. Seems to have very much just been a lone nut.

Given his name, apparent motivation, and low death count, I suspect this story won’t be in the headlines too long.

Bookreader…my husband is in the air now too.
