Southern Methodist University Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

If anyone still has the test score button, can you screenshot it?

I don’t think we ever had that button

That is the way I would interpret it as well

I don’t see an SAT/ACT button in my daughter’s application, but she went test optional. So maybe that’s the reason she doesn’t have a button.

My daughter doesn’t have a button. She submitted ACT score.

I’ll have to ask my S24. I think he applied TO (ACT of 27 was below SMU 25th percentile). But I think it’d be a big waste of time & effort to remove the buttons ahead of the decisions.

It’s probably not as much work as you think. Probably just a few button to remove for admitted/denied students and keep for defered students.

Maybe it’s just the files that have had a decision made. They can’t update anymore info.

That’s possible too.

Does SMU normally announce beforehand or are they like TCU and they just come out.

I have no idea if this adds anything but we went TO and have no button. (but I honestly don’t remember where the button was)

Last year, decisions were released in Dec. 16, the year before that the release date was December 17. Both Fridays
I’m guessing we know by Wednesday of this week (Cox decisions may take awhile longer).

Per Admissions at SMU today, EA decisions will be released starting today the 18th thru 21st. Best of luck to all

Can you elaborate on the Cox decision comment? Is the typical process to get admitted to SMU but find out about Cox later?

Last year, some applicants to Cox were accepted into SMU but did not hear with regard to their status w/ Cox until the following week.

did you call or get an email?

the button or no button :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My D called them regarding an unrelated topic. At the end of the conversation they offered her the information without asking
FYI “EA decisions will be released starting today the 18th thru 21st”

Anyone know if previous years decisions have spanned multiple days, or typically all at once?

For ED they just put them on the portal and then posted on Instagram afterwards, so I’m assuming they will do the same for EA. Probably no announcement beforehand.
