Next year I signed up for newspaper because I thought I wanted to major in journalism, however that has changed. Im planning to switch either into speech & debate, which I did in middle school, but stopped during 9th and 10th grade however my english teacher who is also the speech and debate coach encouraged me to sign up, or IBSL World History, I LOVE HISTORY and plan to major it in college, however with an already rigorous schedule with APUSH, AP Physics B, AP English Lang and IBSL Economics I dont know if I’ll be able to handle another advanced class.

I already took AP World History last year also, which I loved but IB World History gives a more in depth view of modern history.

Well if you want to major in history, would you’re history load be worse than two history classes? I don’t think debate is easy, at least at my school

Is speech and debate a competitive team at your school, or just a class? If it’s a team, you should definitely consider trying it out, even if it is only for one semester. S&D offers a lot of learning opportunities for you, especially as a history major, that simply can’t be found inside a classroom. It can help with your knowledge and analysis of world events, not to mention the social aspect of it. Since you’ve already taken AP World, I think the debate class would probably be more beneficial.
