So, I bought a spiralizer (https://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Spiral-Ultra-Spiralizer-Vegetable-Gluten-Free/dp/B00QDHWFZM) and it appears to be pretty well made. I’ll admit that it was a bit of an impulse buy, as I did have a smaller, hand held one that did the job…it just took forever. This model has a mandolin feature as well, which appealed to me. Apple chips, baked potato chips,.,yum.
So, anyone here on the “zoodle” bandwagon? I am a fan, but wanted to see if anyone has had success spiralizing other vegetables or fruits.
I tried butternut squash noodles last night for the first time. I bought them already spiralized at Whole Foods. I baked them. I will definitely try again, I’m just not sure I know how exactly to cook them.
Damned if I can find it , but I made a sweet potato / butternut squash gratin recipe using the spiralizer. I think it was from Williams Sonoma…not something for the diet conscious, but it was delightful
You can spiralize radish/daikon and use it in salads. I love salads made of wide ribbons of vegetables - any combo of cucumbers, daikon and carrots works well and looks very pretty.
My spiralizer is a cheap plastic thing, so I just make the ribbons with a peeler.
