@putabirdonit It will say your application is “complete” if you already sent your transcript and resume, regardless of whether or not you submitted letters of recommendation. It won’t specify a specific letter unless you submitted them online, which is why it says “LTR(S)” next to the status. The best way to find out if they have all of them on file is to call.

So by when do we have to choose our housing?

Would anyone be willing to read and critique my personal statement essay?

@arkarind, to choose housing you have to recieve your admission decision, then satisfy the $200 enrollment fee. So probably in december if we recieve decisions mid to late november.

Do I have until 11:59 PM CST to submit my application on October 1?

Is it mandatory to send our SAT scores if we have taken the SAT in the past? My SAT score isnt cornell material at all, will this impact the admission decision or do they not care about SATs? Like if I just dont send my SAT even though I have taken it, will it matter?

Whoops, disregard that last post, I meant to put that in the spring transfer thread for Cornell, lol.

I was reading this post on reddit:<a href=“Reddit - Dive into anything”>http://www.reddit.com/r/UTAustin/comments/2hrk3b/im_a_transfer_student_coming_in_as_a_junior/

And it made me have an idea. I think that all the people in this thread who get into UT should meet up when we’re there and hang out and be friends and stuff, it seems like when people transfer they often have trouble finding new people for a social circle. We are all transfers, so its something in common we have. Just a thought, lol. Besides, we’ve been through so much with the waiting, and hoping we get in, and anxiety that comes with waiting for our decision, and all that stuff. It’ll be fun I think. Just a thought lol

@StephenSW, yes. According to the deadlines page, the deadline is OCT. 1st. So you have until 11:59 CST on that date to submit an application.

@arkarind, I sent in my SAT scores my first time applying but it was not required. As it is not on the list of required items. However, if they require it for a specific school such as cockrell, I would recommend sending them in. But for the most part it isn’t required when applying as a transfer.

Chance me please. I’m so worried. I’m 25, married, mom that works full time. I’ll graduate in December from ACC with an A.A. in Government

College transferring from: ACC
•current/expected GPA: 3.508/3.529
•College applied for: COLA
•1st and 2nd choice majors: Government/Undecided
•quality of essays: not sure… Average
•# of letters of rec and who wrote them: 3 - Supervisor, Supervisor/Trainer, Professor from ACC
•list of volunteer/extracurricular activities: Phi Theta Kappa, Church, Soccer, Team Lead at my current job

aalvez - I would not say your are a lock, but your chances are good to very good. You might consider a third essay on getting good grades while juggling family and job responsibilities. Congrats on your accomplishments in real life. The rest of us are still just playing games while trying to get ready for the real deal.

Someone please chance me!!! I am applying for COLA Psychology first choice and Undeclared second choice.
Current GPA is 3.6 with last 7 classes all A’s.
Current ACC student
OUT OF STATE RESIDENT
Air Force female veteran
Essay A and C (C to go over struggles of balancing military life and education)
Fantastic Resume
1 LOR from former supervisor highlighting a specific situation where I dealt with a suicidal subordinate

This is my SECOND time applying to the school. The first time I had a 3.4 GPA. I called the veteran’s office to ask why I wasn’t accepted the first time, and after speaking with admissions, they told me the only reason was because Psychology filled up because too many freshman accepted their acceptance? Am I going to run into the same issue again for Spring 2015?

@kmn1022 I would hope not, cause freshman only apply in the fall,

Just noticed that My Status shows my application has changed from “Complete” to “In Review.” Looks like nothing to do now but wait until mid-November!

Blinn Team at A&M for first year but College Station and the two schools were a bad fit for me. My friends love it, so maybe it was me more than the place. Dropped a course (Music App!), so only had 27 hours and had to take a summer school classes at ACC to get to 30. 3.74 GPA and applying for COLA/English. Lots of extra-curriculars in high school - 4 years varsity cheer at a 5A high school, Homecoming court, Student Council, etc. blah, blah, blah … Don’t worry. I’m cured and over it.

Good luck to all who applied. I hope we all make it.

Mine has changed as well. So the waiting begins. However, i think decisions are going to be out earlier than we think. Alot of admissions ppl and hear-sayers, myself included have been stating around mid to late November. But it dawned on me that that time frame may just be the date for all of the decisions to be out already. So we could found out any time before then honestly. Some of us may not have to wait too long, but Good Luck to all of us.

@imaswann good luck, you have a good GPA :)

Mine still says “Complete/On time”… Im guessing the status will be changed tomorrow lol

I’m in review too :p

Expect to be in review status for a while, and it may even switch around from review to complete a couple times.

I wouldn’t hold my breath that you get any decisions before mid November.

This is pretty exciting and nerve wracking at the same time! Good luck y’all! Hopefully we can see each other there next semester!
