Spring 2015 Transfer Thread

I havent done anything related to housing at all. Am I screwed? I havent been accepted yet tho

And also, is it possible for your mystatus to get updated over a weekend?

I think we can start the housing application after we submit in the application. And since the admission office close during weekend, I don’t think they are going to update.

@pounce4‌ are you going to apply for Spring? And what is your second choice?
@imaswann‌ tuition about $5,000 isn’t that for in-state?

@Longhorns061012‌ Do you know status of the perdon who got in CS? Their GPA, and credit hours.

@Longhorns061012‌ I would like to know this as well

@mjm815‌ I also received that letter in the mail yesterday. I’m not sure what it means, but it is definitely interesting. I was wondering the same thing though.

For the ones who still haven’t heard back yet and have 30+ Credit hours, We HAVE to get our decisions this coming week right? Because on Mystatus it says that If we are accepted our time frame to change our major is November 1st - December 15th. (Which Im guessing most of you have memorized due to looking at that damn screen for the last 2 months). December 15th is next monday, so that means we have to hear back this week. WE HAVE TO.

I applied as a transfer from ACC with 40+ hours and a 4.0 to biology CNS and undecided as my second choice. 2 letters of rec, a strong resume w/extra curr, an independent research project, comm service ect. and fair essays. I also have not heard back yet and when I called admissions last week I was told that it is possible that some may not hear back until January . The lady said they try to get MOST out by christmas break but it’s a possibility some may not hear back by then. Someone I know who got accepted to CS last spring also did not find out till January.

That’s true it could possibly be January based on the past… And I only know that they were international students admitted to CS because I overheard it at the International Office… Maybe they rush internationals given the distance?

That does make sense. I’ve heard from other international people that they got accepted almost before everyone because they need the most time to plan out residency. As if we don’t need time to also plan our new life… I just hope that we don’t have to wait longer than next week.

After the stressful waiting around for the decision, and now stressful housing process, I will be signing my lease Thursday. Thank goodness!

And @Sebgon4‌ I’m not sure if you’re asking your chances, or when the office will give you your decision. I got in CNS Biology with 3.46 and I had no extracurriculars. In my opinion, I believe you have a great resume and great chance to get in. Good luck!

@Longhorns061012‌ So, do you know the status of person who got into CS? (GPA, Class took, what grade they got for those class) I would like to know even they are international. Thank you !!

@UTpatriot17 Thank you! My main concern for not getting in is the fact that I haven’t taken calc yet and that seemed to be stressed as a necessity on their website. Have you already taken Calc and do you think that could significantly impact my decision?

Hello, I am currently a Freshmen at UTSA i trasferred 29 college hours from a community college with a 2.9 GPA. My first semester at UTSA I am enrolled in 12 hours with currently 2 Bs and 2Cs. With still the spring semester to finish. I have somewhat decent essays a letter of recommendation from one of my professors. I am applying to transfer into the college of education: kinesiology and health, health promotion with my second choice COLA. I would appreciate any advice and if anyone could review my essays. thank you.

@Sebgon4‌ No, unfortunately, I took Calc but withdrew from it. I have taken Precalculus and Statistics. (Made an A in stats) Someone else said earlier in the postings that statistics could take place for calc. I think they prefer Calc, but I don’t think it is a make or break kind of deal.

I still believe with your great creditials you will get in!

Hey guys! I’ve been reading this thread for awhile and congrats to those who’ve been accepted and hang in there for those still waiting!

I was wondering when the thread for Fall 2015 transfer going to be made? Again best of luck to all of you!

@cdctransfer‌ I plan to make it just right after Dec 15 for Summer-Fall 2015 Transfer thread

EVERYONE WHO IS APPLYING INTO CNS.

if you get accepted or rejected. post your stats which should include

GPA
number of hours
and ALL MATH AND SCIENCE COURSES that you have taken.

for example calc 1, calc 2, bio 1, bio 2, chem 1, chem 2 ect…

that would really help instead of just saying “oh i got into cns with a 3.9” that really doesnot help anyone cuz like a previous poster has stated (they dont just look at gpa anymore) SO PLEASE, post all your math AND science courses that you have taken thus far.

Thanks and im prayin for all of us.

THIS IS INSANE. I seriously cant hold out this long, january???
