Wonder if the chances change depending on the semester you apply for

@Kyotoraz I’ve heard that Spring is more selective and then I’ve heard that its also easier. To be honest I think the process is random at times, but all we can do is wait.

Hi Guys,

Well I just finished out my Fall Semester and now sitting at a 3.65 with 54 hours. I plan on applying to RTF at Moody in January but could you guys go ahead a chance me? I’m a little worried about my GPA…

Thank you guys and I hope all of your hear the decisions that you want!

An update on myself, if anyone out there is interested in following my process and comparing it to their own… After this semester I now sit on a 3.71 GPA with 34 hours. Obviously that means I’ll be waiting even longer to hear back because I can’t send my transcript over until tomorrow. Applied to COLA-Economics and my backup is COLA-undeclared. Five years spec ops experience in the military and a letter of recommendation from a McCombs alum. Two essays that detail why my military experience prepared me for success in college. Fingers crossed!

Now that undergraduate studies isn’t an option for a backup. What is another good back up option for applicants seeking CNS?

@Kyotoraz COLA Psychology maybe ?

@UTpatriot17 Would that major let me take science courses like physics and biology? Also how difficult is it to transfer internally?

@UTpatriot17 yea, I intended to go for CNS, but I still need back up so, COLA seem to be a great choice for back up (I plan to go for Slavics Studies). Same question, can we take science like physics or chemistry if we aint in CNS?

Another week without hearing anything. Did anyone get anything back from CNS?

@Yoohooos & @Kyotoraz … I would assume that you could still take those classes since it is required as a ‘core’ requirement.

And I’m not really sure the about the internal transferring. I’m sorry.

If anyone has a housing contract on file and needs a roommate, let me know!

Is december 15th the absolute last date that they have to give us our decision? This is really starting to get on my nerves/

@arkarind someone said might be January

like the first week of january? I really dont think I can wait any longer than that. These people are taking too long, plain and simple

@arkarind yes, and I agree

This is seriously getting way too freaking out of hand. I get it, its UT and in all its glory it can do whatever it wants. But dang it i think their decision process is utter bullshit. Let me have my freaking decision already, no wonder Bill Powers was about to get fired.

I am shocked that UT is doing this to their prospective students.

Guys, I think I will call them tomorrow and see what they think the absolute latest date is, stressing that even if they give an acceptance, it will be very difficult for prospective students to accept because of the short time given to move to Austin, register for classes, etc, and most likely the classes they need will be filled up…

UPDATE: so I called them today and they said that most likely it will come in the next 2 weeks, but it could POSSIBLY not come until the day before you have to sign up for classes… UT is being ridiculous.

@arkarind Yeah i called them yesterday too and they said that hopefully a majority of them will go out this week. Because according to the lady I talked with, the admissions staff will leave this friday at 5pm and won’t come back until JANUARY 2ND. So I hope most of their process is computerized.
