Anyone have any recommendations about taking apk2100c or apk2105c in spring and putting off calculus 2311 till the summer? Also what teacher do you recommend for apk2100C or apk2105C. My firiends are all struggling in Calc this semester. I already have to take bsc2011 plus lab and chm2046 plus lab…going for the pharm program so could really use some advice here. Thanks

two labs in one semester is indeed hard, but if you decide to take calc in spring i can probably help you or your friends out or something if you wish.

You also have to think if there’s any classes you need to take soon that’ll require calc, like physics, in which case i’d say go for it.

I find chem plus lab, calculus and another science course to be a killer. Then again, some people can do it. I know I can’t!

This semester has been a killer. I have bio + lab, chem + lab and precalc. Talk about never having any free time. That’s why I was wondering if I should take Calc over the summer or should I just struggle with bio2 chem 2 and calc for spring. Is there any great calc teacher, because there is one that i hear is horrible. Thanks guys

I was able to take 2 sciences + lab and 2 upper math classes in one semester. I also would not recommend it unless I knew your academic strengths personally.

For reading what you have posted, I would recommend that you take bio 2/ chem 2 with labs and one of the APK classes, along w. some elective (if you want). I personally think physiology is easier than anatomy. Take calc in summer. You don’t seem too confident with the subject matter, esp since you started with precal instead of calc. Summer will allow you more time to concentrate on that course. The physics you will taking doesn’t require calc so dont worry about that.

should i meet with my adviser to figure out what classes i want? this semester was pretty crappy…three out of my five classes always had conflicting exam dates.

also check your holds. i just checked my isis and discovered i had a hold for outstanding transcripts. i wish they would email us to notify students if we have holds.

What is a hold for outstanding transcripts?

Thats why I use google calendar. When I get the syllabus for a class, I check to see the exam dates for the classes. If too many of the exam dates are on the same day, I will not take that class that semester. Other factors are also consider, how hard the class, a tracking class, etc. I find advisers useless, but you can see on to see what they recommend.

Yeah, some of my friends still had a hold on their count because they didn’t send in their final high school transcipts…lol

But as to the original question, APK2100C is a hard class. Tillman is the best, he’s a great lecturer and lecture tests come mostly from the notes.
The lab part, however, can vary on your TA. We had our lab practical today, and I’m telling you, it was deadly.

It’s a lot of work, but its doable.

I’m also taking Intro to Chem, and Bio 1. I’ll say this: I went from a Straight A Student to a C student pretty quickly. But, there’s still a bunch of time to pull up my grade.

outstanding high school or college transcripts. my community college transcripts haven’t been fwded up here yet. such a pain. I’ve requested it like five times online. I’m trying to figure out if I can have it electronically sent up here.

I am thinking of majoring in civil engineering and i know PHY2048/2049 is required but if i am also on a premed track would i also have to take PHY 2053/2054 as well or could my premed physics requirement be met by just taking 2048/2049?

There is not pre-med physics. You can take either 53/54 or 48/49 with labs. If you are a engineering major you have to take the latter. Most pre-meds take 53/54 because most of them dont take calc 2, so they can take 49. Also 49 is very hard from what I hear but 48 is easy.

Most of the pre-med engineering majors I know are either biological and agricultural engineering or materials science and engineering.

can anyone tell me anything about AMH 2010 (US to 1877)? (ex. amount of work? ease? exams?)
How about AMH 2010 with Eric Morser?

thanks.

how hard or how much work does this schedule sound like it would require and individually how much work does each of these courses require:
ENC 2210 (tech writing)
SPC2600 (intro to public speaking) or AEE 3030c (Oral Communication)
CHM2046/CHM2046l (Chem 2 and lab)
PEM2132 (Advanced Weight Training)
MEL4011 (intro to medical professions)

chm2046 will be your most difficult class…and it’s not even that difficult

Agree with the comment above. There is no difficulty with you schedule. It should be a pretty easy semester.

how is SPC 2600 (intro to public speaking) compared to AEE 3030c (Oral Communication)? what is the difference in workload and time consumption? will AEE 3030c be just as easy to or atleast almost as easy as SPC 2600 to get an “A” or do well in?

Hey,

Could anyone shed some light on SYO 4400 (Medical Sociology) and CPO 2001 (Comparative Politics)?

Also, has anyone taken gen chem with Gower or heard any opinions?

Thanks for any input!

does anyone know if enc 3254 is a lot more work than enc 2210?

ENC 3254 and ENC 2210 are the same thing. They aren’t time consuming, my group and I got most of our work done in class. Most of the instructors are pretty cool and cancel class often. I heard some bad stories of some instructors taking 15 points off for a spelling error, but that’s rare.

I took CPO 2001 my first semester, I thought it was okay. We had to write two papers which weren’t too bad and the exams were off the notes. It varies from professor to professor though. It’s fun if current events are discussed (as it was with my professor), but can be pretty dull if taught from a historical sense.

I heard it was pretty easy. He learns everyones names and he weighs participation heavily and will call on you by name.

Isnt she teaching organic materials/ polymer engineering?
