Im a CAP and i have been in review since last Friday. My major is RTF
@parthp97 the wait is killing us after a few days. Imagine how the people feel who have been in review for a month feel!!
Pretty sure ive been in review for 3 months now.
haha same @Clintonwk . It’s funny when you recognize people’s usernames.
I just got off the phone with admissions about the enrollment deposit. They said that we do have to pay it immediately but you can get a deposit waiver and they can increase the amount of time that you have to pay it or you might not have to pay it at all. The shortest time to pay that lady saw this time after acceptance was 2 days!
“Keep in mind [June 15 is a general guideline], not exact date, and CAP decisions aren’t necessarily on the same timeline [as transfer students].” -UT admissions on Twitter
CAP people potentially have a longer wait than everyone else…
I was just wondering, as I was scrolling through everyone’s posts, how come some say UT has their GPA lower than it was at their community college? I’m applying with a 4.0, but I’m curious as to why some people say their GPA changed when applying ?
anyone know how they handle the gap comparison between a student from ut dallas with the a+/a- system and another students from acc/a&m where they only have full letter grades? I go to ut dallas and my gpa with the a- system is a 3.52 but if it was based on the full letter grade system i would have a 3.71… which is a big difference.
@texas759 I’m in that boat. I have several classes that I’ve taken twice on my transcript. My junior college gives me ‘repeat status’, which removes the old grade and replaces it with the newer one. UT does not calculate your transfer GPA this way. They look at every grade you’ve received.
@ImDerped oh okay… So basically UT looks at every grade you received, despite your junior college giving you the opportunity to replace the old grade ?
@texas759 correct. Also, even if a credit does not transfer (if the grade is too low but you haven’t retaken), it is still calculated into your transfer GPA. Literally every course no matter what.
@Clintonwk thanks so much for clearing that up! I kept reading others talk about it and I had no idea what it meant
Does anyone know about the time difference between a external transfer decision and a CAP decision for McCombs?
Ugh. What is the avg length of time between application going into review and receiving a decision?
@hookemlion504 haha, there’s definitely not a reliable average. There is still plenty of people on here who have been in review since the very beginning. And then some who got decisions within days of going in review.
I heard there was some people who have been in review for over three months so the avg length time is pretty skwed lol
My application has been in review since I submitted it… It has been 4 months now…
there were people finding out as late as Jun 25
@hookemlion504 I’m an external transfer and I’ve been in review since March 1st and I’m still waiting on an answer if that puts it into perspective for you
i’ve been wanting to call them to get some sort of idea when the people who have been in review since March are supposed to hear back, but 1) i don’t think its the same answer every time and 2) im scared they’re already agitated from all the calls they must be getting…
