Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

I’m currently waiting to hear back as well, I applied to Moody- Political Communications. Does anyone happen to know how competitive that specific major is?

I am wondering the same thing about corporate comm. No one seems to be talking about it that much so I am curious

Currently awaiting Aerospace Engineering, with Mechanical Engineering as second choice.

GPA: 3.85, 70+ hours, completed Calc 3 and Engineering Physics 2 this last semester. Combat veteran, 3 letters of recommendation (algebra/calc professor, general physics/engineering physics professor, Army Commander of my infantry company), in state, 3 strong essays (purpose, hardship, and personal issue), 3rd generation UT combat veteran.

Saw someone was accepted with a GPA .03 higher, so I’m anxious but still hopeful. Good luck everyone!

Hi! Can you add me to the list when you get a chance ? @Newsie2015 4.0, 31 hours, 3LOR, 2 essays, RTF and second major is journalism

@texas759 sure! I will add you tonight

@texas759 I applied for Moody-Advertising

@Newsie2015 Major lurker here…sorry… I just made an account so I could post on here. I’ve applied to McComb’s, still waiting in review (as I have been since March 1) and have 60 hours, 2 LOR and 4.0 GPA. Could I be added to the list?

Also, good luck and congrats to everyone already accepted! Reading these has helped me be more patient with this drawn out process.

@Newsie2015 same tho hahahah 30 hours, 3 LORS, 3.7 GPA, pretty solid resume

Really hoping McCombs transfers get decisions today, since add/drop opens tomorrow morning!

any International Relations people left, specifically ones in review since March 1st? I feel like not getting an answer yet is a bad sign, especially because cap students have gotten answers already, but im trying to stay positive…

@frostcause Same here, I applied to McCombs as a transfer student as well. The wait has just been way too long…

@blue1996 I literally know 1 CAP student that has a decision. I know quite a few CAP students haha

Edit: to add, the 1 CAP student was admitted to COLA. Which is auto admit for CAP. Holistically, I don’t think any CAP students have gotten a decision.

@techfan741 okay cool, that makes me feel somewhat better haha, i only said that because there have been a couple cap kids or students who had to submit their spring grades from this thread that have received answers, a couple from my major, but you’re totally right, there’s probably way more cap students that haven’t heard back than have.

Yeah it seems like COLA is generally ahead of the other schools, so if there is a CAP student who only applied to COLA then they would get their decision super quick.

no acceptances today?

I’m a CAP student waiting on COLA and still not even in review

I am still waiting since my application went into review last week to get into CNS.

I’m a CAP student waiting for COLA 1st choice major was government 2nd choice major is International Relations. I was personally told by a International Relations advisor that it would be easier for me to major in both Gov and IRG by majoring in IRG first.
I called admissions and talked to them about it and was told I should be able declare IRG at orientation.

Regardless how it goes, I just really hope I can double major in both Government and IRG. The degree requirements are literally the same, except the major specific courses and IRG requires to become fluent in whatever language you decide to take and you are required to study abroad a semester in which I can take course that would count toward both my IRG and government degree.

I contacted a government advisor and was told I an double major in Gov and IRG however that was it. The IRG advisor was much more specific with what i would have to do.

Also I have 30 hours of transferable credit that applies for both IRG and Government

@DestineeMoreh yikes good look with the language requirement at UT, most of them are 6 hr classes
