I honestly look at it taking a long time as a good thing. I think it’s because they are trying to get as many of us in as possible!!! And if it doesn’t work out this semester, there’s always next! Whatever is meant to be is meant to be!!!
At this point I am turning apathetic about the wait. I’m sure when I finally get a decision I will feel it lol. I have a solid back up plan in place already so I’m fine. However, has anyone else done what I did and looked at the class schedule to see what they might take lol.

@DestineeMoreh , I applied for dorms since you cannot apply to campus apartments until you are accepted. I only applied for dorms just in case I got an offer and could not find appropriate off campus living. I am fine to have supplemental housing until I get an apartment contract though.
The bright side for me is, I already have my classes that I want at my current school enrolled. So, at least I have a schedule I want. What I am freaking out about the most is time to find living arrangements and finding a high paying service industry job unless I am offered work study opportunities. Academic jobs on campus offer in-state tuition so I really hope I get that.
Yeah, I see where you’re coming from. I opted to stay on the waiting list, but the two emails I’ve been sent by housing they made it pretty clear that I wouldn’t even get supplemental.

@utairplane28 , take it easy. she must have misunderstood when she found out that is how UT grades but didn’t realize they do not grade transfer grades the same way, even if there were a number by the letter grade. Honest mistake.
I get the feeling that everyone is stressed and have lost their optimism. I’ve pretty much lost all hope so I won’t be checking until after June 15. But I really do hope that a week from now (or less I guess), when I check back in I’ll be reading more acceptances 
On one bright side… I’m finally in Texas!!! I love it in Austin (Pflugerville). Not that anyone probably cares- I’m just excited 
@cherry018 don’t lose hope! This thread is supposed to be a place we can all go to ease then anxiety of the wait! Positive vibes is all that’s needed to help lessen the struggle of staying sane through it!
You guys! How come y’all are losing hope just cause it’s now June? I mean I have only been in review since I sent my final spring grades to make 30 hours but I can see how being in review for months now is very frustrating but don’t lose hope! What’s meant to be will! It’s all going to be okay!
@texas759 It’s partly due in fact that I’m in a very tight situation where I need to make the first orientation since that’s the only orientation I can make (it’s a bit of a long story). So now that the first orientation is filled up, I have to start cancelling flight tickets, reservations, Eid celebrations with the family, and re-budgeting for another flight ticket in order to make the second orientation.
It’s also super frustrating for me since I called UT and they cheerfully told me that I should be fine and stood by their June 15 deadline but now they are wavering on their June 15 dateline. But that’s fine for me, since I figured instead of driving myself nuts by checking MyStatus every hour, I’ll just check after the deadline (I have nothing to lose now lol). I guess we should all just do whatever it takes to stay positive and not go complete cuckoo (like what we’ve seen here on the forum previously lol).
@Cherry018 , it sucks for all. I am trying not to let the anxiety get to me as well. I have so much planning I have to do if I get accepted and I would love to know ASAP.
I think I upset some of you and I didn’t intend to. Those of you who are upset seem to not have thought about plan B. Everyone should have a plan B. Get comfortable with plan B.
Plenty of wonderful applicants are declined admission. This will feel completely unfair to you, but it is the truth based on an insider. My older son has a friend who worked in UT admissions and he said it goes like this: there is a pile for crazy high grades and a pile for some other standout factor. Acceptances come from those two piles. Everyone else is declined.
If someone is accepted with a lower GPA than you, it means they were in the “other standout factor” pile. GPA was not their hook.
UT is an extremely exclusive school and still, they are oversold. They admit more than they have classes for. Getting out in 4 years is an uphill battle. Once at UT, you may find it difficult to get a seat in the classes you need with the best/good professors. A bad professor can make it impossible for you to pass, much less earn an A. UT is like anywhere else, they have the full spectrum of good and bad professors.
If you don’t get in, try thinking of this an opportunity to get all you can at your current school that will count toward your major (probably for less $$). Have as little as possible left at UT to still qualify to graduate from UT.
UT’s door may be closed today, and if it is, there are other open doors. Most of you can make another attempt at getting in to UT. Applying “early and often” is one of the ways to get noticed by Admissions.
If you are feeling down, rent the movie “Rudy” and see what that guy went through to get into Notre Dame. I think you may relate!

I hope it all works out for you, that’s a very tough position. It’s starting to get to me because of the living situations. It’s so stressful trying to figure out my life with being uncertain
@eaglemom10 Thank you eaglemom. how does the GPA thing explain? It says on their website the opposite of what you said. And my school (UTA) only gives generic letter grades (A, B, C not A+, A-, A) so UT has no numbers to go by.
@eaglemom10 I have a very solid plan B actually and I was upset by your post. It was as if you were telling me my hard earned A’s were now meaningless when I stayed up hours of the night studying hard. Your comments are the last thing all of us need to read. Some of us have been waiting MONTHS and quite frankly we don’t need you telling us your “inside information” on how we won’t be accepted. I’m not trying to be nasty towards you, but your comments are truly condescending and I don’t really see the point in them. I am so excited for all of these wonderful people in this thread and I am rooting for them. I know how they feel and what they are going through because this is one heck of a process. No need for the negative comments because it makes me sad knowing that others might read them and feel down about their accomplishments or more anxious, just like how I felt when I read them. I don’t know why you’re coming on here to make us feel like that and claiming your just giving out information.
