Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

Does anyone know if there is a connection between having your degree audit filled out and you being admitted? I ran a degree audit about 2 weeks ago and it was empty. Then I ran one today and it’s filled out with my credits. Do they do this for everyone or only students they plan to admit?

@mcs1996 I have no idea, but where can I get mine filled out? Through the check my status?

still checking in on you guys almost every day hoping to see some of y’all accepted. i still have SO MUCH hope for everyone! in last year’s thread, there were loads of people accepted on or around june 15th. don’t give up just yet! i know it’s hard but i know the patience will pay off!

@hookemlion504 hey what kind of industry job are you looking for?

@DaveCloud http://registrar.utexas.edu/students/degrees/ida Click the orange button that says “Access IDA Now” and then select “Audit Requests”. In the dropdown, select the 2014-2016 catalog. Then select the major you applied to. Submit the request and then refresh the page and your audit should be available to review!

@mcs1996 Thanks! I was able to see my audit report so they probably just do it for everyone

@mcs1996 @DaveCloud hi, sorry to bother, but what is the audit supposed to look like?
Edit: I figured it out lol

@blue1996 It should show all of your transferable coursework and detail the UT course equivalent! Also shows what classes give you credit toward your major.

Every college have their own admissions office like mccombs have one, college of natural science have one?

I think we might not be finding out until after sunday now. The next deadline to pay the 200$ is Sunday.
I hope that UT would be kind enough to not expect people to just drop 200$ in less than 3 days.

This is what I think is going on. I’d like to hear what everyone else thinks. Remember this is all speculation!

One of the reasons UT does their transfer acceptances in waves is because we are all ranked in level (not lines). The worst of the worst people are auto-denied. Let’s say that there is John with a 4.0 and a bunch of other good things that is tier 1. Then there is me and I’m average but have some good things. Then there is Sarah, who is tier 3 and is decent but doesn’t stick out as much. UT sends out the first set of acceptances to John. If John accepts then Sarah and I are automatically denied or shifted around in our tiers to fill in spaces for the tier 1 people who rejected their offer. If John doesn’t accept his offer and doesn’t pay by his deadline (lets say its May 1) then I get an offer of admission and have to pay by May 15. If I refuse the offer, then Sarah gets it and has to pay by May 31. This continues on. The length between the waves of acceptances depends on the school and how many applicants. So if we haven’t heard anything yet, then it could mean that we are tier 2 or 3 people. However, that isn’t bad news because if we’re still in the running then there are still spots available and that there have already been Tier 1 people denying their offer. Things move a lot faster after May 31 because by then most people have already committed to other schools so if they receive an acceptance they will quickly deny it because they have already made a decision and don’t need to weigh options. If all the spots fill up, then there will be a wave of denials for the major or a wave of people getting in for COLA undeclared.

@Newsie2015 that’s kind of how I think of it. Have you seen anyone hear back for mechanical or civil engineering? I’ve only seen one denied for mechanical and nothing for civil

My audit is empty, so I don’t think I got in, which was expected, I’m trying to be optimistic though but its kind of hard to be… I’m just gonna chill out and not think about it, good luck to all of you guys, I’ve been pulling for everyone since I started reading the thread

That audit has only ever shown me that 3 of my classes are up (1 of which they say doesn’t count towards my degree) I have an Associates Degree, so it no where near shows all my classes. It has never worked good for me. I will see if that changes if I get accepted. Good Luck to everyone. I hope anyone reading and not posting will share their acceptances AND denials. It helps to know both. Thanks guys, have a great one!

whats an audit? is it for internal transfer people?

@blue1996 are you in review yet? Mine was blank the first time I did it. I did it again today and it worked. But I did have a friend who’s audit worked for him despite not being in review yet.

Tbh, I dont think it indicates if youre in or not.

hi everyone! i just found this thread and thought i’d share my info. I was at ACC for Fall 2015 and this spring and my GPA from ACC is a 3.52. I applied for a BA in Art History. I have a little over 50 hours (not exactly sure). For Fall 2014-Spring 2015 (my freshman year) I was at a music school and had a bad GPA due to a now-resolved mental illness! I wrote one of my essays explaining that, in addition to the 2 I had to do for the app. I have 1 LOR from my psychiatrist that details my progress. I applied for Spring 2016 and didn’t get in so here’s hoping they give me a chance this round!

@Newsie2015 yeah, I’ve been in review since March, I honestly don’t know if I did it correctly (my major has different tracks in it, and I haven’t chose a track yet, and I don’t know if I clicked the correct one) but idk, I’m not considering it a complete denial, I just figured my classes would be on it by now if I was going to be accepted. But u are totally right, it may indicate nothing (fingers crossed). Has anyone asked admissions about it?

sorry that was so long!!
TL;DR - 50+ hours (most of my freshman year classes do not transfer), 3.52 GPA, applied for BA in Art History (COFA). 1 LOR, 3 essays, and 2nd time applying

Anyone applying to COE who needed to submit their spring grades to hit 30 hours?

the audit thing is giving me stress mine is empty.

I applied to COE! Ive been in review since I submitted my spring transcripts :frowning:
