@Clintonwk I was in the same boat the first week I got accpted, might let it sit a while till they actually get your transferable credits listed.
Also to everyone who’s still looking for housing but on a short budget, try splitting a room in West campus! Find an apartment complex that doesn’t mind/doesn’t charge extra and split a 900$ room even with someone else you are willing to! Another thing, the more rooms an apartment has the more likely the price overall for the whole floorplan will be less when splitting up the rooms. There’s tons of people still looking on roommate threads on FB!
CNS first choice Public Health, second choice Undeclared
Denied to both
3.7 GPA, 30+ hours, research experience,3 internships, previously accepted, 1 LOR
Good luck to those still waiting. I know how nerve wracking it is! This was my second time applying. I applied last semester and the funny thing is I sent in the same grades but I put more effort into my essays and resume. I joined an honor society this semester and I volunteered in the school. I only had one letter of recommendation last semester but I had 4 total this semester. Basically what I’m trying to say is it’s not only GPA, they really consider your entire application. For those rejected, don’t lose hope! Next semester will just fly by so work hard this semester and try again. I really want to thank everyone! You guys made this process sooo much easier. It’s nice to know you’re not alone in this madness. For those accepted congrats! I’m excited to finally start at my dream school
I got accepted back in mid-April and I only had so much time to accept, like I’m sure you guys do now. I ended up not doing anything and let my deadline pass because I wasn’t completely certain if being undeclared in COLA was going to be my best shot, but now I really regret my decision and I just emailed the admissions office about it
Anybody been through the same experience or is experiencing currently? Would like to know what you’ve done or what you’re doing.
@cksolutionhorns At the time, I was planning on transferring into Interior Design, but when I went to the UT Open House, they recommended not starting out in community college. I knew that internal transferring would be hard as well, so I decided I was going to change my major. Now I’m not exactly sure what to major in, but it might be Nutrition or Public Health because I want to go to Medical School.
@Auwryn Yes, the internal transfer process at UT is even harder but if you put the work in then you’ll have a good chance of getting in! Just make sure you do something that you love and want to do because I know a lot of people who got into COLA as their second choice and tried to internally transfer to other schools either didn’t get the grades high enough because they underestimate how difficult UT is or they didn’t realize that the process takes a year for an internal process. Plus all class registration is restricted to what major you are in. Lets say you are COLA and want to transfer to moody and are done with your basics than you are screwed because Moody reserves reservation to its students. It sucks but makes sense. Hope that helps!
