Congrats to all the new science peeps today! Not going to lie, I’m kind of freaking out right now since I have no news yet from CNS.
@WannabeBanana I’m sorry you misunderstood my posts. You may have also read my post when I typed @Clintonwk, who seemed to have an irrational fear of May 1. Don’t get so defensive.
Let’s all play nice around here.
I feel like the context of what I’m trying to say is getting lost in text, so I apologize. I’m not trying to be mean. I’m just trying to help. =)
Gratz to all the people who were accepted and good luck to those waiting still.
Has anyone heard of anymore Engineering results being posted? Saw someone post about having a 3.88 getting accepted for Aerospace, which I’m trying the same with a 3.85.
I will apologize to no one for my irrational fear about seemingly pointless and arbitrary dates.
Haha, this whole process is going to drive me crazy.
Has anyone heard from Computer Science yet?
Nope. What do you’all think will the average GPA is going to be for CS?
@optimist probably like a 5.0
@Clintonwk that sounds about right. I know the average gpa for CNS is 3.6. Comp Science prolly stays above 3.9 being 6th ranked across the nation
LOL I think he was being sarcastic @“Hope N Calories” …
I know, forgot to put ‘haha’ in my last comment after it sounds about right.
April 21 and still nothing
Anything from chem or mechanical engineering?
@jimpgz123 nothing for me yet, I don’t think anyone got decision for chemE
@jimpgz123 My hubby got rejected from Mech E, 2nd choice.
@ChemEnUTPLZ @jimpgz123 only decisions I have seen from Cockrell have been electrical aerospace and petroleum. I have yet to see one from chemical civil and mechanical
I applied to Mech E but I’m currently a freshman. I won’t receive my admission decision until I send UT my final official transcript showing my grades for Spring 2016. The wait is killing me. Even though I know I won’t receive my admission decision until I send my transcript to UT, I still check my UT portal daily. lol
@britni12 yeah your husband is the only response I’ve seen from mechanical. But I take it with a grain of salt cause I believe he got auto denied because y’all are out of state and they only accepted 8% of those applicants instead of based on his grades
Same goes for freshmen who are admitted to UT. I guess about 85% of the in-state freshmen admitted are those who were Top 7% of their graduating class which makes it really competitive for those who weren’t the top of their class to get admitted into UT. Also, UT favors in-state students more than out-of-state students. So out-of-state students who may have been in the Top 5% of their class still aren’t likely to get accepted to UT.
