Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

@sat4498 I don’t know the exact GPA for any major. I just gave my speculation based on the students getting accepted in the past. You might have done a great research project that makes you stand out from rest of the applicant pool, GPA is just another factor (most important one) in admissions.

Is there anyone here who is an international applicant and applied to computer science as transfer student for Fall 2016? If so have what is your status?

Still waiting for COLA decision. Applied with a 3.779 GPA for Econ.

@sat4498 I applied to CS as an out of state student, not sure if the same criteria applies…I still haven’t heard back yet! Applied with a 3.67 from the University of Washington.

@nepusr Unless you have a 3.9 to 4.0, don’t expect to hear back soon.Your application is likely getting racked and stacked with anyone who didn’t have a near perfect GPA.

Got accepted into CS!! Oh fuck yeah!

@SailorAndCoke Funny how you just confirmed for me what I posted seconds ago. I saw you had a 4.0, for those who didn’t know.

@SailorAndCoke Congrats!!

@BlueMoonArmy Yeah great timing haha!

@SailorAndCoke Yay!! Congratulations!!

I’m going to guess that anyone with a GPA below 3.9 won’t hear about decisions for CS until next week. It’s probably 4.0 to 3.9 this week, then 3.8 to 3.7 next week. UT is only open for 2 more hours today, so I don’t expect anyone lower to hear back by then.

I have a 4.0 and still waiting for CS. In state.

btw @SailorAndCoke congratz!!! mind posting stats???

CS stands for Computer Science right?

Yes it does.

Thanks everyone!

GPA: 4.0 (51 credits)

  • Calculus I,II,III
  • Physics (Calculus-based) I, II (Honors)
  • Programming Fundamentals I,II,III
  • Other: Veteran, President of a small club, 2 recommendations

@BlueMoonArmy Do you think UT CS will go to the range 3.8-3.9? So far only two people get accepted in CS and both of them have GPA 4.0.

@nepusr Thanks for your reply. I do not know whether they consider both of us same or not. I have in total 69 credits with 3.81 GPA. I am applying from Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) and I am an international student here.

@sat4498 It’s 2 people out of probably hundreds that have applied. But it also depends on how much you actually want to believe they use “Holistic Review” or not.

@SailorAndCoke Congrats… I’m rethinking my profile name… not being optimistic at all.
