Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

I’m also a tad bit overconfident, but who isn’t. @britni12

@IdkIdkHelp I only crave Doritos Locos tacos. Do your essays combine Doritos flavor with taco goodness?

My essays are a culmination of all things pleasurable in nature. I can’t say that my product hones the same euphoria brought forth by doritos, but I also can’t say that it doesn’t.

@IdkIdkHelp There is an edit button. It’s the cog when you hover over your own post. You don’t have to post twice every time. Did you see the link I put up to the tuition waivers page?

I’ve been to the tuition waivers page. idk ill figure it out. @BlueMoonArmy

@IdkIdkHelp What major did you apply to?

Hi guys!
I’m currently a senior in highschool and I am really interested in transferring once I get my 1 year done from my local 4-year college. I was wondering what things I should be preparing myself for when transferring. Thanks!

@nerdmaster Are you a Texas resident, and why are you going to a 4 year college when you plan to transfer? That’s a waste of money.

A lof of people transfer after their 1st year from one university to another.

@britni12 Even so that doesn’t make it a good idea. It’s expensive, and if you intend to get into a different school, you’re better off going to a local community college in the area to get hooked up with transfer deals for CC students.

Oh, I agree. It’s just not uncommon. But, @nerdmaster said on a different thread that the college he is accepted for fr Fall 2016 is his dream school… not sure why he wants to transfer then.

@BlueMoonArmy Well, I really wanted to go dorming but I just can’t afford it currently. I was planning to finish my first year at my local college (on a scholarship) and then transfer after I saved up enough.

No, I’m from the city so tuition is pretty reasonable here.

What state are you in? If not Texas, are you aware of the out of state tuition cost at UT Austin? It is extremely expensive.

@britni12 My other thread was about me not being able to afford my dream school haha.

@nardmaster If you can’t afford your dream school, then attending a different one out of state in a place where you know zero people will not be any more affordable. Austin isn’t a cheap city either. Take it from someone who actually lives in Texas. There’s no way you’re going to save up enough money in the span of a year to afford to live in Austin on your own for the next 3 years paying out of state tuition.

Out of state tuition at UT plus living cost could EASILY put you at $100,000+ worth of student loans just for a Bachelor’s. Food for thought.

@britni12 Sorry, I’m not trying to be argumentative. I genuinely don’t understand what the issue is, though. How does me picking CNS/biochem as my second choice negatively affect anyone else?

I know someone who got accepted to Philosophy.
