Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

@mattbernest I’d say you have a chance especially since you are a Texas resident and have a lot of experience with the German language. It shows the school that you definitely want to major in German and aren’t just applying to COLA with the hopes of internally transferring.

Probably a good resume builder as well. @BlueMoonArmy

@mattbernest Your GPA is a tad low, just being honest. Being a Texas resident does, of course, help, as well as Cola not being as competetive… But, with a GPA that low it would be beneficial to describe why your GPA is lower in your application essays. And if your GPA is going to be even lower after you submit grades, you may have some troubles. But maybe not, your essays could blow your GPA away

On MyStatus if you try to change your major it says, “if admitted youll be able to change your major from the period April 1st to May15th” does this mean that all acceptances will be released before the 15th? also what do yall think the chances are of being accepted to Economics as a 2nd choice with a 4.0

@whlockett oh my goshhh I hope so! I mean May 15 is “mid may.” I honestly have no idea about that, but with you having a 4.0 I would think that you’d have a pretty good chance.

@kdeez3 yeah i definitely hope we hear back before then the waiting is driving me nuts

I called CNS Admissions today and they said that they were behind. Basically all they said was "You should find out between May and Early June. Which is really annoying given I was going to take summer classes according to if I get in or not, and I have to do housing. I just hope that they get off their butts and post decisions soon because its stressful enough as is.

@Penguins786 but thats just CNS right? that doeesnt necessarily apply to other colleges does it

@hookem2016 YES PLEASE. Do you owe any money on the lease and how long is your term for starting in August?

It doesn’t work haha. Like texas law does in fact encourage universities to do this, but you aren’t the only student who got a scholarship and unfortunately you have some incredibly exceptional peers… UT OOS waivers are usually promised to certain students over a multi year period and there are limited quantity (under 20 if not less than 10) per school. So yeah, you can ask but I wouldn’t expect to actually get one. It;s extremely extremely unlikely.

he said just in general, admissions was behind

@BlueMoonArmy Is very right, you would need a job that paid an excess of 130,000 USD/year and if you have that… why are you going to college? You need to go to community college for a couple of years and save up while getting 60 credit hours. Establish residency in Texas over that 2 years. THEN go to UT @nerdmaster

@WannabeBanana Private message me and I’ll send you all the details!

Quiet day on the thread, hopefully this doesn’t mean we are stuck waiting for the June wave. prays for mid may wave Hahah, everyone’s anxiety has them getting all tense on here. Lets pull for each other and not be forum moderators ROFL.

It really is not fair to make us wait like this. The offer acceptance deadlines for the other two universities that have accepted me are coming up soon. I don’t know what to do.
They should change how they are releasing decisions. It is not fair to let someone know he/she has to change cities in a month or two. smh

Agreed 100%. I just need to know already

Sent in my application in March and I have over 30 credits but still waiting, can’t make any decision on the housing on both sides and the rates are going up…

Yep. I’m just going to let the St.Edward’s enrollment deadline pass as I wait for a response from UT.

.

I’ll probably call them tomorrow cause I’m still waiting to for RTF decisions. Luckily UTSA doesn’t have an enrollment deadline at least one that isn’t ending anytime soon. So I have the option to wait a little at least.
