I’m competitive and that statement merely implied my application materials are competitive in comparison. No reason to get all offended or assume I am saying I am better than anyone because nothing I said read that. I have not exaggerated any of my abilities or declared I was more important than anyone else.
@hookemlion504 it was just an observation is all- I wasn’t offended. I just know that sometimes text gets read different than intended, I just thought I’d share a perspective. I may have read a little much into as I had higher than normal stress going on this weekend, so my apologies. I don’t think you will have any problems getting in, as long as your essays were great
@mintpopsicles That is pretty cool. Does anyone have an idea where the technology professionals like to hangout around the city? If I hear good news from the Admissions Office I plan to spend a week in Austin during late July to find a bartending or serving job, particularly at cocktail bars or fine dining restaurants.
@britni12 Thank you. I am glad everything is understood between each other. I really do want to get in, I did not even know I was going to try to transfer to Austin until November last year. UT is exactly what I want in a university.
Just wanted to wish everyone good luck this year. Last year, I was exactly in your situation, checking my status and college confidential a million times per day. I was finally accepted to McCombs in the beginning of June. Your wait will be worth it, and believe it or not, it will come to an end soon
Correction… went back and looked at my timeline. Accepted on June 17th (together with a ton of other folks here at college confidential). So again, do not read too much into not getting accepted yet.
Not sure I can handle another month…but if it means there’s still hope, I guess that’s something! Thanks for the feedback @ecollin
Any international student here who has got notification of admission yet specially from CS or CNS?
@rilers likewise, what major? i think as long as your essays are solid and your gpa is high you’ll be fine!
@sat4498 hello! UT Austin admissions Twitter officially stated Intl transfers will hear by the end of May
@mintpopsicles Awesome! I worked hard on the essays so that’s good to know
I applied as a speech pathology major, hbu?
@Ecoline what was your major
@rilers pre-public relations! fingers crossed for the both of us. what’s your gpa?
@mintpopsicles right on! I think we’ll be good it’s just the wait that’s making us doubt ): I have a 3.75 GPA! How are you with stats and essays?
@mintpopsicles considering that the intl transfers will hear at the end of May and Moody is not as competitive as say McCombs, we should hear by the beginning of June!
@rilers i think i’m pretty good. i have a 3.7, but my essays are strong and wildly personal and i have very relative work experience to the field. i also have 3 LOR’s: one from the house rep i interned with, one from my employer (who vouched for my people skills), and one from my honors history professor. despite the fact that my gpa could be higher, i think i am competitive. are you coming from a two year college? what kind of leadership experience do you have?
@mintpopsicles I am! I’m from a cc in PA so it’s a bit more competitive for me. Are you out of state as well? I was the director for the theatre productions in my cc (all theatre-related events are student-run) and helped manage the music festivals we held this year. I show a lot of experience in public speaking but very little in therapy
I heard from a UT professor a GPA that is 3.7 or above gives you the greatest chance at acceptance, so I think we are at a good place especially since we put a lot of effort on our essays! I just hate the waiting
@rilers that’s awesome, i think any kind of volunteer experience is helpful. i am in-state, at austin community college.
the waiting is rough but we are closing in on the deadline… just a few more weeks.
Well… looks like my glimmer of hope for today was blown to bits. Tomorrow?! Pfff, who am I kidding lol June is starting to feel more like it.
@mintpopsicles Yeah! I should definitely look into volunteering…thank you
and that’s very true the deadline is closer than we think
