@JavaCoco I should have, for sure. But, it’s just not in my personality. I wish I was that type, but I can’t… my OCD will simply not allow it. HA! I will leave alone. I just don’t appreciate someone trying to discredit my work… I worked so hard on the CORRECT information list for everyone lol… ok ok… leaving alone.
and it’s not territorial… it was rude for her to step on my toes; no regard for the work I did. I enjoy helping everyone when I can around here, helps with the wait, it may seem silly- it’s a stress reliever. I mean c’mon… anyone else would have been like… “umm… I’ve already been doing this… what the heck?” It wouldn’t have been as frustrating had it been correct stats, I would have been happy to work with that person, but that’s not the case.
Just a list, man. Doubt they meant anything ill by it. I think you’re overthinking it.
People are not obligated to explain themselves for your convenience on the internet. I don’t know who the user Newsie is and frankly it isn’t my business beyond what he or she wishes to disclose. They may have multiple children attending the university or it may be multiple users under one username (common with shared home computers). It is not up to him or her to divulge any identifying info to satisfy offtrack curiosity. And it has nothing to do with the accuracy of a list which is easily verifiable by the users tagged in it.
Also it’s just a list. The user offered numerous opportunities to collaborate on it with as many users wish to be involved and left that open, so anyone who wishes to has plenty of time still to be constructive and suggest anything he or she may feel is an error… instead of grilling him or her about his/her identity which is entirely inappropriate.
Let’'s all agree to appreciate the list and the users working to make them better & steer away from unnecessary character accusations.
@WannabeBanana I agree, however, when she openly discloses this information on other threads, asking for responses, she is leaving herself open to scrutiny. When you divulge personal, conflicting information like that, someone is bound to pick up on it. I am not questioning her identity… I am only questioning information she has willingly disclosed. How am I in the wrong to point out questionable things someone has done, for the sake of the validity of the thread? That makes me the bad guy? Like I said before, I would love to collaborate with someone, it’s not a territorial thing. It’s the trustworthiness of the source that concerns me… if that is wrong, then I guess I am the bad guy
And it’s not for my convenience, it’s for everyone on this thread.
She also just graduated high school in 2014… she does not have multiple children in college.
Moving on. Let’s hope for some more decisions in the am.
I do not want this to be a large dispute but this logic is called victim blaming. You were robbed because you left your car door open, you were scrutinized about your post because you posted something online… blaming the subject of mistreatment for the choices you make. It’s an extension of circular logic fallacies.
What may appear to be discrepancies on the part of someone else may really be a lack of information and understanding on your part… you never know what the full story is until it’s made available to you. And no one is obligated to do that. So let’s all chill. Just because we can do and say things doesn’t mean we should.
What would be helpful in this thread is a series of tips on letters of recommendation from students who have been accepted, so if you’re looking for something to do that’s a good place to start. It is VERY overlooked, imo.
@WannabeBanana When you post conflicting information online, it leaves you subject to scrutiny. Period. She has been very clear with her information, it is not my understanding of it- besides the one thing, which I pointed out and corrected myself. She asked for responses to her info… I am not in the wrong for asking about it. Moving on with this, please.
BTW, I read that you are a girl, YAY! Just thought I’d share my enthusiasm for that. I think you and I have had a lot of convos here, which were way overblown because it’s online; it’s hard to perceive intention through the web. Just wanted to clear the air on that. Let’s move on, and stick with the positive vibes.
Not to add to list controversy, but biomedical engineering is in Cockrell, not CNS - not sure if I’m reading the list right. Biochem is indeed in CNS.
Has anyone who had to turn in their spring transcripts to meet 30 hours gone into review yet? Daughter’s application now shows as complete, but not in review.
edited to add…Oops, just checked and she is no in review. The real waiting begins.
@britni12 I am actually very very offended. Please leave me alone.
I post alot on the parent threads because it interests me. I had a lot of free time in high school. I am a CAP student who attended UTA. I even personally know someone on this thread. I got into U Miami early action as a freshman but couldn’t afford it. I could barely afford UTA and literally begged the school a month before classes started to give me FA. I was lucky to attend and am very greatful. My family is barely above the poverty line.
I asked about lying about ECs out of curiosity. Would you like my ECs? I can send you my very true resume if that works for you. I asked that question because someone has made a mention about their kids ECs in a parent thread and I was curious how do adcoms even know. If you read the thread I even say that. I am not a liar. I would never dishonestly take the spot of a deserving student.
I do not have any kids. I am 18.
Please state where it says I graduated in 2014? Especially since my grad year is in my username.
I never stated that I got in for Broadcast Journalism at Ut Austin. I never stated such.
Again, this is a list. At the end of the day. A List!
I will speak to the mods if you choose to continue. Stop PMing me.
@Rachel987 mine sent in yesterday but I haven’t changed. I know at UTA at least anyone who preorder their transcript had it sent out yesterday. Maybe the computer is overwhelmed or they might just have a lot to process thorough. Someone last year though had their transcript in on Wednesday and a decision on Monday.
@britni12 lets no longer talk about lists. I do not want to get into argument over a website about lists. I will continue posting it and again if you see any mistakes let me know. It benefits everyone and future transfers to have a compiled list than to not have one. But I do not and will not tolerate you twisting my words or bringing my name into question. Again, I am not a liar.
Can we please change the topic.
@Newsie2015 Hers got electronically sent Monday. It took until yesterday to show they had received it and then overnight it went into review. She is also applying to Moody. Good luck to you.
