What school here in America would compare to St. Andrew’s in terms of how hard it is to get in?

Is there any schools a 2.8 Student, with 5 honors classes(senior year), 3 varsity sports, tons of community service and leadership, with greats teacher and counselor recs can get into in England?

Thanks a ton.

kings college, nottingham, leeds, birmingham

Eh? King’s is fairly competitive. I’d suggest Liverpool, which is very underrated, IMHO.

Bristol, Manchester, and Edinburgh are good reaches.
Durham, Warwick, and Manchester are good matches.

Keep in mind that UK universities place far more emphasis on GPA and test scores than American universities; ecs play a lesser role.

Mancester wants SAT of 1200 or 3, 3+ on AP test. I’ve only taken one AP test, and haven’t taken the SAT so that’s out. What are the requirements for Warwick, I’m having a hard time finding them.

Another thing to keep in mind that UK universities have admissions policies that vary in different subjects. A Chemistry course, for example, would expect A-level, IB, or AP coursework in chemistry. Since you haven’t taken the SAT or AP exams, I’m not sure what to suggest.

I suggest you start by looking at www.the-student-room.co.uk. It’s the British CC and is pretty helpful.
