St. Andrews for a Canadian Student

Hey,

I will be taking a gap year volunteering in East Africa, and come September I hope to apply to Saint Andrews. As I am from a small city in British Columbia, no AP or SAT courses or tests were available for me to take. Do I still have a shot at getting in with a 94% average and lots of international experience? Thanks.

The St Andrew’s website sets out the requirements for applicants from your province:

You should be fine.

I would not worry about it. St Andrews, generally speaking, is much better at doing admissions based solely on school marks and UCAS application. (And 94% is definitely enough) I don’t think they care that much about your SAT and AP courses/scores than say Edinburgh or UCL or etc. When I was admitted last year, they were the only school that didn’t need me to send in my standardized scoring reports.

Do you think I would have a shot @ LSE?

Have you read the information for Canadian applicants (or done any research whatsoever)? Lots of details and it took me about 1 minute to find.
