**St Andrews in Scotland 2023 Applicants Discussion**

Hey I applied in mid feb and just got an unconditional offer for management last week! The stats say its just as hard to get into as IR and is a really respectable business school but does anyone actually know the reputation for it?

Yes I meant BSc. My point was it is very possible to start in BSc and switch (in my daughters case to MChem in this case to MPhys) if marks are good in first two years. Apologies for the fat fingers and phone typing. I do not know what about this information is incorrect as my daughter has already been told directly by her adviser she will be permitted to switch if this semesters grades match her first three semesters. We are not sure that is the best course for her, however.

As far as limited to no electives, that is not the case in the first year. Even as a Math and Physics student, if you take 20 units of math and 20 units of physics first and second semester you still get another 20 unit elective course in fall and in spring.

@blackcar2019 congratulations! Would you be willing to share your stats?

@blackcar2019 Congratulations. My middle son is a second year at St. Andrews. He is also a school Ambassador/tour guide and just loves it there. If you have any questions and would like to speak to a current Management student, I am sure he would be happy to speak to you. Also I believe the Management School at St. Andrews is rated, by many, number 1 in the UK. It has an excellent reputation.

Yea I have a 35 ACT, 3.86 GPA, 7 APs (all 4&5 but one 3 in physics) and took 7 more this year, on Academic decathlon, not a ton of ECs but I work a job after school @NYC2018nyc and thank you so much, that’s be amazing to talk to a current student!

@blackcar2019 send me a pm. He is away for Spring break in South Africa right now and the wifi is spotty where he is. The opportunities for amazing travel experiences are incredible! He will be home in a week and you all can speak then.

@vpa2019 I applied in mid-January. It’s interesting that someone who applied a month after me already heard.

@mountainmama19 from my own experience it took about 6-7 weeks for a decision. Also what I’ve gleaned from this thread is that each department reviews it’s own applications so the turnaround time varies. Hope you hear good news soon!

Thanks. A rep came to my school today and she said she would check on my application status so hopefully I will hear soon.

@mountainmama19 good luck! ?

Just found out I didn’t get in. I’m disappointed, but I applied for one of their most competitive programs (Biology) and I didn’t apply until January. The odds were stacked against me.
Stats: 33 ACT, 3.95 UW, 4.55 W

@mountainmama19 I am sorry. I hope you have some other great options.

Hi. D was just accepted, Int’l Rel. Flying over to visit 3rd week in April. Heard there is a FB group for North American parents. How to get an invite? Thanks!

@MilesKendig congratulations! My D was accepted as well and we are going over that same week ?. Excited to see the school and the country! I’d also be interested in info about the parents FB group.

Congrats @MilesKendig and @vpa2019. My son is a current 2nd year and loves it. I am not sure about the FB page but I have some great packing pages former parents gave me as well as some other stuff like that if you daughters decide to go and you want some help. They are also welcome to reach out and speak to my son if they would like. He has also been a tour guide and a school ambassador! Congrats again! Actually we will be there from the 26th-30th of April if you are there as well. My son is playing is this huge Charity Polo Tournament against the Royal Scottish Army!

accepted for IR

@college curious sorry I couldn’t get the link to work … how did you manage a space in your user name lol? Polo as in horseback with mallets (I’m sure that’s not proper Polo terminology)? Thanks for the offer to speak with your son. I’ll definitely pass it along to my D ?. Really looking forward to visiting! We’ll be there the week before but good luck to your son in the tournament!

@vpa2019 yes Equestrian polo and yes mallets is correct! And not sure how I have a space. Technology not my forte lol! And if you want reccs for places to see, restaurants etc let me know. We visit at least a couple times a year and LOVE it!! I am sure your daughter will enjoy!! Thanks for the good luck for my son!

Out of curiosity - did you visit before being accepted? It’s not like the USA where you have to visit to demonstrate interest, correct? Did you fly into Glasgow?
Thanks and congrats to all!
