Standardized Test policy 2020

If there were two candidates with equal potential and competence of extracurriculars and other scores like APs and GPA, and Candidate A submitted their SAT score, while Candidate B did not, will B be hurt during the selection process?

What if B only had a mediocre score(like in the high 1400s range)?

If a school says that scores are not considered, then they are not considered.

BTW, a high 1400s is not mediocre (say the mom of a kid whose son got a 1220.) If the score is below the average for the college that you are applying to, then I wouldn’t submit it.

However, a lot of schools only say “it is not required” which technically means they consider it like an extracurricular(I could improve your chances) so its a little confusing when they also say “it won’t be a disadvantage when you don’t turn it in.”
