I’m going to be at school, so I told my mom to come home around 2, get the mail and call me. eeesh

i have to stay after school, so i’m considering having my mom check the mail and email me the result, but i won’t be able to handle running the meeting if i get deferred, but i want to know asap

yea i had the “no touching the mailbox” policy going for a while, but I decide that I’d rather know. I told her not to open it though, just tell me how big it is. I want to rip it open myself. (and continue to rip it to shreds if it’s small)

aggh i just realized, i have newspaper layout after school! usually, i’m not home on mondays until 8. i’ll have to run home right after school because i don’t want a bad decision over the phone or at school. i toyed with asking my mum to bring it to me if it’s a big envelope but then realized, if she doesn’t come, i know my decision… so it’s better not to know unless i want to re-layout my page with a rant on the unfairness of life.

2 days!! 2 days!!! mind-blowing…

lol, since it’s after 12am here, I’ll know TOMORROW! Whoaaa

whoa… me too… 12:17. aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

this is ****ing with my mind.

I give up trying to dominate this whole board. I’m tired. Homework time!

gracilisae! I’m in the same situation as you are–I have newspaper layout afterschool until 6:00 and I refuse to let anyone touch the mailbox. My erratic mailman usually comes any time between 3 to 6. My solution? I’m getting my mom to call me as soon as she knows the mail is here. I’ll sprint home, close my eyes, wrench open the mailbox door, and blindly plunge my hand in, hoping to touch a large envelope…

Ooohhh, the drama!

crosses fingers but thinks it’ll be a defer, or even a rejection, considering the caliber of the deferred on here

Princeton has given me ulcers if nothing else. Last had them when the deadline was closing in :-/

i couldnt sleep last nite
oh woe is me

Whoa, you’re on newspaper staff, lisae? Nice. Me too. And this year we switched from physical layout to computer layout. It’s so sweet. We’re in the middle of compiling our annual student magazine right now. Editing is fun :)

I love computer layout, much better - I can’t believe you just switched over last year, Phil (although that’s pretty hardcore)! I think we’ve been doing computer layout for about ten years now…

We use Pagemaker, what do you all use, Phil + Phantom? InDesign?

(I have PageMaker at home too, so I’m struggling through one of my pages right now… agghh. The worst part is that we’re a weekly so I’m perpetually struggling through a quicksand of layout, it never ends!)

http://img.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/albums/v216/aglaeia/preview.jpg

That big snowman cookie is going to be briefs… that I (gulp) haven’t done yet… Come to think of it, I still need to write that story, too… This week is a real senioritis one…

ok three questions
- Do you procrastinate?
- How much hw to you have on average?
- How much sleep do you guys get?

Hobbes -

Yes, but less this year than last year (so I’m improving at least)

About 6-7 hours a night

On average about 5, 6 is a good night during the week. Weekend = 12 friday night, usually, (unless I have a meet or Meals on Wheels) and 9 on saturday night

you?

ack, for some reason I thought you were talking about tiling. Never mind, hehe. Yeah, we’ve had comps forever, just as we’ve had CRAPOLA PAGEMAKER 6.5 for ever. It’s so bad. I think I’m going to write up a grant for us to get InDesign or at least an updated PageMaker.

Q&A:
- Yes
- 1-4 hours (on average, 3/2 hours)
- 3-7 hours; on average, about 6

3.5 hours, you lucky ■■■■■■■!!! (term of endearment, swear) my teachers seem to think an hour of homework is an acceptable amount every night, not taking into account that we’re all in seven classes…

we have pagemaker 7.0 and I lurve it to death… it’s my friend (although i hate having to do clipping paths in photoshop, i wish there was some way to to selectively crop in pagemaker. do you know of any way?)

agh newspaper talk!! yuck i can’t wait until 2 weeks off without an issue to do!

Lol. Well, I’ll usually leave off a couple of problems in calc.

plans on chloroforming lisae and snatching her pm7 I <3 newspaper. I’m such a journalism nerd. Opinion editors rule!

We use Microsoft Publisher (our newspaper is in a magazine format). It’s a monthly 20-paged paper. We’ve been thinking about switching to Pagemaker this year, but Publisher just seems to cover all our needs pretty well. We’re also trying to put it online this year.

Q&A:
- Rarely.
- 1-2 on weekdays, around 3-4 on weekends. Extracurriculars are really occupying my life this year though, so I keep busy.
- 8

Phil—

Chloroforming, eh? That’s a unique plan of attack.

I love newspaper, but putting out an issue every week (of which I usually am responsible for laying out two pages) kills me. Are you guys a weekly too?

Lifestyles (features) editors rule equally!!! (It can be an equal monarchy, kk?)
