Standing vs. Sitting at Desk

So, which would you recommend? There’s been a lot of talk recently about how sedentary people (usually older, office-bound workers) have a higher risk of heart attack.

Well, I assume that most of us are healthy and young, so does sitting down for 5+ hours a day hurt us that much? Will standing make that much of a difference? Let’s say, for example, we have an athlete who runs 4 miles a day and hits the gym afterward. Sit or stand?

Share your thoughts.

Sitting > Standing any day of the week. However Sports > Sitting any day of the week.

^I disagree. Sports > Sitting Monday-Thursday, but not on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Sports > Stand > Sit.

Sports is a no brainer, but standing = good for your abs.

Unfortunately, majority of public tables/classrooms do not accommodate standing users.
