Just so you know, he got accepted.

Also, haha, I could thoroughly explain my reasons for taking a gap year, but it’d be a lot to write. Actually, this is kinda long anyway, and it’s just about me, so don’t anyone feel obligated to read it, haha.
Basically, I want to do it for financial and personal reasons. I really want to have a time when I can really dig my teeth into my private art and design business, because from college onward I know I’m not going to have the time. Besides raising the amount of commissions I have time to accept, I want to join what a lot of my friends have done and get my own table at an “Artists’ Alley” in a convention. I’ve had people offer to share a table with me before, but had to turn it down because it couldn’t fit with my school schedule. Same with number of commissions and whatnot. I want a year to really delve into my art before it has to go on the shelf as a part-time hobby again.
Also, I know it sounds weird, but I really want to be put in a more humble position in some part-time job; I’m so used to being treated like some revered supergenius star at my school (against my will, I hate drawing attention to myself), and want to experience life from a more humble position, like a retail job. Also, I really need money, ‘cause my family is totally poor. We get financial aid to go to my private school, haha.
Really my dream part-time job for a gap year would be working as a sort of teacher assistant at my school, because I have a really good relationship with all my teachers, and I love the thought of being able to help them and the school out. I’d love to help our guidance counselor to know more about higher-tier admissions processes (by giving her resources, of course; I don’t claim to be an expert) so that my school can become more competitive and respected. Also, the environment would help me not get rusty academically, because, as a teachers’ assistant, I would be grading papers/tests/etc.
I know it sounds weird, but I’ve gone to my school since pre-K, so the staff and I are very close.
I’ve no interest in the whole “taking a break from studies” thing, because, honestly, I wish I could go to Stanford tomorrow. That’s just the reason some people give.

One wall of text later, you know more about Prussia than you ever wanted! Hooray!
Again, no one is obligated to read that mess, hahaha…
