Why must you speak in such a negative tone, Prussia?

Thanks guys. I’m really enjoying the chatter. Plus there’s always the possibility that a good number of you will be accepted and a chance of me getting in next year, so we’ll sort of “know” each other.

Shadow, I hate that picture. It makes Stanford look like the most beautiful place on Earth, and I want to be there NOW. :/

Just finished the longer of my two UC essays. It needs to have about 100 words cut, but I like being slightly over the word count; it forces me to ensure conciseness. I still have to do the shorter one, but 250 words is nothing. I’ll probably end up doing it during my TA period tomorrow.

Ahaha. Hmm, maybe my sarcastic tone isn’t shown well enough? No worries Prussia. I’m pretty sure that I read you’re of European Jewish decent? If so (maybe I’m wrong, I’ve seen so many posts in the past few days), do you have any idea about the Jewish population at Stanford? I happen to be Jewish as well, part Polish and part German (although this branch originally came from Spain, but my ancestors fled during the Inquisition).

@Starmie, hahaha. I couldn’t help it. I took another couple pics but they happen to be blurrier. I wish that I would’ve taken my dad’s DSLR along. I happened to go late afternoon - early evening, so I got a plethora of spectacular views, especially with the architecture.

btw my friend has this book called Freakonomics 2 and in it it said that the average salary of a female Harvard graduate is half of that of a male Harvard graduate. I know there are otehr factors that could affect this like maternal leave and what not, but that is still a huge gap and reeks of sexism. That is so wrong and how would we go about ending that?

Haha, someone was asking me if I went to USC over the summer, but his post seems to have disappeared. Well, actually, I didn’t! Did I remind you of someone you met there? (Or have you disappeared forever, making my question futile?)

Actually, shadow, I’ve not a speck of Jewish blood in me, though I am very Germanic and European. I remember someone else near my post was Jewish, though, so I could see the confusion.
Nonetheless, I’m not totally sure about Jewish life at Stanford, but I do know they have a Hillel Jewish society sort of thing and a Taube Center for Jewish Studies. I tried to look up the statistical size of the Jewish student body, but I haven’t found anything yet, sorry.
I know they value diversity a lot, so I would imagine they would have a sizable Jewish population.

Hahaha, my apologies then. I’m actually not orthodox anyway, so Hillel wouldn’t apply very much to me. But yeah, I do know someone who goes there who happens to be Jewish, but apart from her, I don’t really know.

You guys are a cool group… I wish my parents hadn’t held me back in preschool an extra year. Yes, they actually did that. I should technically be a senior this year, and graduating in '10… blah.

Speaking of House, back in 10th grade I did my main research paper about religious themes and messages in House MD.
Disregarding the paper, it was totally awesome because my “research” was basically just watching all the stinkin’ House I wanted.

Yeah, admit weekend would be totally cool. Decisions are so close now… Scary.

is your username derived from the game shadow of colossus, that you kill giants but the giants are practically epic puzzle you need to figure out in order to kill them?

wow Prussia that is just awesome. lol I actually saw seasons 1-5of House all over this summer while in Malaysia (yay internet) adn then I kept up with season 6. Wathing commucnity Environment episode right now lol.
