Wow Diivio, you better hope that we won’t both be at Stanford in 2 years ;)

Yeah, my school is crazy about it. We do regional, state, and national competitions. It’s pretty insane. I happen to be doing a business plan competition at State region this year, so I bet it’ll look good if I write about it on my applications coupled with doing iPhone application developing (since I basically have a small business through the App Store). Dang, I really want to be accepted next fall at Stanford since they’re always looking for entrepreneurs :D

ugh Objective C programming, I’ve heard with the development of the iPhone, they’ve made objective C easier, I’m not saying it’s mega difficult but I prefer programming in Java since I started with it so I guess I more used to it, lol hopefully the Android starts to take off so I can program games for it lol since it’s java based. For BPA, my team is making a social networking type of app, sorta like Class Jump and Twitter fused together, and we’re using teh Java Database Programming features since we can’t use an Oracle Apex (PL/SQL makes DB programming so much more efficient and convenient), although that would have made things easier on the database end of our project. Does objective C have automatic garbage collect? Good luck next year when you apply shadow!

Well, Objective C does have an automatic garbage collection system, but the snag is that only Mac OS X may implement it; the iPhone OS cannot for various reasons unknown to me.

Nice though. I’ve never actually learned Java, ahaha, but I’m thinking about learning it because one of FBLA’s competitions is to code a new website for school specifically for FBLA and there are other comps where you have to code an application.

That’s awesome. In your team, I really can’t say anything regarding if you guys ever face obstacles, but from my own experience I’ve learned to never give up. The reason why is because with programming, there are loads of times when a bug is a problem that you cannot seem to find, etc etc. I just think of a little “motto” that my brother and I created waaay back: “push 'em back, push 'em back, waaay back.” haha.

lol I totally agree, don’t you hate when your looking for some logic error in your code that you think is the problem and it ends up being a syntax error lol. Well I got to go. This site can be addictive. Take Care you guys!

btw your project sounds really cool Shadow, I’ve always wanted to make a iPhone app.

Wow I just realized that ROYGBIV doesn’t only help you remember the colors of the rainbow (visible light) but also puts them in order of increasing frequency. The acronym was more useful than I thought lol.

Thanks Diivio. I actually do have one full application published, with another one as a LITE complement for it. If you’d like a link, just PM me for it. I’d post it publicly, but I’ve done it before on another site and got insulted for it since it contains religious content.

New Episode of House at 7:00 pm here in Idaho. Woot! Gotta finish my homework, meh I’ll still watch the show even if I dont’ finish and do the rest after.

Shadow: If you give me the name of the app, I can look at its description on the app store on my iPhone right? lol I don’t care what the content is unless it’s pornographic which obviously yours isn’t so I’d like to know the name of your app. I dont’ know how to PM but can you PM me the link? and if you PM it to me how do I access it

PS: nvm I foudn the PM thing, can you PM it to me anyway?

Should we have a mini-decisions thread for the QB kids? Does anyone know how many are here?

Haha, I’m sorry, Starmie; I wanted to be Super Stanford buddies, too!

It’s scary to think how close decisions day is, now.
It’s weird, but I actually feel like I’m going to be genuinely sad to see any of you guys rejected. How the heck do you get so attached to Internet People?!

Prussia, I was thinking the same thing. I can’t believe that I actually feel attachment to people I’ve never seen before! lol someone should write a paper on that…hmm…anyway my friend is getting her QB decisions tomorrow I think so let’s all wish her good luck as well as any QB applicant here. BYE!

Also, I’m totally happy, because my dad finally submitted his half of the CSS Profile thing, haha. It’s done.
My parents went out to eat while I was napping, though. Grrr.

@ Anon from page 164 and basically everyone else

Sorry I don’t really post too often. I’m usually really busy (except for last weekend) so I come back and read this thread to help procrastinate. Basically, I read stuff 10 to 15 pages after it was discussed, so I don’t want to be that kid who suddenly starts listening to Lil Jon (idk how to spell it, I’m really not big on rap) and drinking crunk juice 6(-ish?) years later.

Anywho, although I haven’t contributed too much, all of you seem like really cool people and hopefully we all get accepted in a couple weeks.

By the way, who else loves that Elf is back on TV because it’s Christmas-time.

I have to say: Seeing you post your passion and knowledge of Stanford up and down this forum has made me like you a whole lot. I hope you get in not only because I’m sure you’re a great applicant, but also because you’ve clearly exceeded some expectations on College Confidential! If I manage to get in I want to meet you and give you a hug.

@Ian
i’m sure i’d like to meet everyone on here <3
i had an amazing 2 hour nap today. now i can actually read and do homework for the first time in 6 days!
