nvmmm. figured it out. but can someone answer my question.

thanks. sighhh. i suppose i come under overrepresented…md. has all the awesome school like Montgomery county and such.

Yeah, I should change my screenname to appliCAN.

I could get an admissions officer on the phone.
Not.

I think I answered it.

Well I have to go and memorize a song about my heart for my health class. Arg Health class is so boring. I dislike classes that are required for graduations. I know that I shouldn’t have sex as a teenager and that abstinence is the safest way to go. Sheesh. I know I shouldn’t do illegal drugs or OD on prescription drugs, but oh well, it’s only a semester long so it’ll be over by January!

well…i have to take that at night school second sem. along with all the kids who’ve gotten expelled from school. i amit it will be an interesting experience though.

Well Torcher they probably only take about 2 from Idaho per year, so I don’t think I get that much of an advantage since at my school alone 5 kids are applying and I know a bunch of other kids applying around the Boise area, and even more kis from rural Idaho counties will probably apply so the competition is tough here to. Last year my counselor said 2 kids got accepted to Stanford form our school and I think that was the only acceptances in our Boise area.

well…no one else at my school specially applied but i’m sure a ton in my whole region did. ah well. it doesn’t really matter b/c you’re competing against everyone in the nation. but i am curious as to how they actually figure out who they’re going to take.

Idahoans generally apply to colleges in Utah, Montahna Washington, Oregon, and California, and of couse Idaho colleges.

Yeah snowy I’m sure we all wish we knew that lol. Oh well what is meant to be will be. Obviously I hope I get in but if i don’t, there are other colleges and life goes on (at least I hope it does…lol jk). So everyone: describe one event in your life that was EPIC or really memorable. I’ll describe mine later. K now I really go to go bye for now!

Well, just so you guys know, I plan on making the official SCEA thread one week before decisions, which is the 8th (Tuesday).
If anyone has suggestions/etc for the format ( http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/800082-stanford-2014-sceaers-69.html#post1063589574 ), please tell.

Congratulations applicannot!!

Thanks for all you’ve done for the site Prussia! You’re a paragon in every way!

so
i dont know if this impacts stanford at all, but Penn said they are releasing decisions on the 11th with the other ivies. maybe stanford will wana release decisions on the same day?

i’m just posting this to verify that the ivies are actually releasing on the 11th. so its not just a rumor now :)

NJDS that’s what I thought initially but now I’m not 100% sure anymore because I’ve heard that Duke, GTown, and Yale are the 15th.

AHHHHHHH, I JUST WANT MY DECISION NOW!!!

Honestly, though, how far do you guys think they are in the admissions process?

They’re probably mostly done, just licking stamps at this point…

It’s funny how SOOOOOO excited we all are for a date that could be VERY happy or VERY sad. I figure all the anticipation is gonna make it worse, but what the hell–I know I can’t help it. Oh and I’m from Nebraska. Underrepresented.

I still have what I like to call the “White Male FAIL” issue though.

I doubt that they send out admission acceptances/rejections as they make them. They probably have a set in-house deadline for when they should be done, then get the letters and other miscellaneous items sealed into envelopes before being sent off by mass mail out. By mass mail out, I mean the same way that business’s tend to send out advertisements, etc etc. Basically they’ll drop off a bundle of mail at the post office and it’s marked to not be delivered until a certain date.

Yeah, I honestly think they’ve about wrapped things up. There might still be some more ‘debates’ in committee or whatever but I’m sure they’re 90%+ done.

I’m curious what is the representation status for South east Asians, since my parents are from Malaysia. Technically I’m Indian by ethnicity but Malaysian by nationality and i’m wondering if that makes a difference? Obviosuly when it comes down to it your credentials and character are most important though.

Not to clutter the race into one bundle, but generally Asians find it more difficult because they have a more difficult applicant pool. Even though I am white, you could also be considered an ORM, particularly in California.

DON’T sweat it. Your stats are so much more important and unless it’s a big deal on your application, I doubt they will take much notice–neither positive nor negative.
