“I thought their infiltration would be a bit later…” Yeah, I’m just forward-thinking, can’t help it. :p

Congratulations, diglett!

^^

LOL again… M bored
too many assignments to do this night.

I’m bored too. I keep opening up Word and the CB BB website thingy and then minimizing both and cruising CC again. Procrastination ftw.

Uh, no. Roller derby is a sport in which women dress up in fishnet stockings and their underwear (and ridiculous names like Vulva Las Vegas). They roller skate in a circle, essentially racing each other around (it’s more complicated than that, but it’s hard to explain without watching) to score points. To prevent the other team from scoring points, you can do anything you want except:

Bite

Pull hair

Throw elbows or forearms

Cut track

^I saw that on Kath and Kim.

Oh and congratulations applicannot! :)

Thanks! I’m trying to schedule a visit now. I know I’ll get flown out for Admitted Student Weekend, but since there’s nothing else on my Christmas list I think I am going to get my rich uncle (and by rich I mean lower-middle-income, but that’s basically rich for my family) cough up the $250 for a flight and just visit on the cheap while I am there.

Wow a lot of newcomers! I’m glad to see that the thread is growing. We are almost there! I think we need to brain storm ideas of passing time / getting our minds off of the 15th.

hey… here’s a question for you applicannot. Did you receive a fin aid estimate yet?

mfederman: I don’t think that’s possible… at this point i can’t help but day dream about how I’d react with an acceptance and with a rejection… over and over again it play in my head. ARGGG

whoaness:

My letter of admission (as opposed to email) and estimated financial aid package are going to be mailed on the 5th. I should have them by next week. Hopefully it comes UPS or FedEx instead of USPS so it’ll get here faster. All billable expenses are paid, so it just comes down to whether they right me a check. Even if I am required the full $4500 student contribution, I’ll likely get a check for about $300 each year. Hopefully, however, they waive or decrease the work study portion and will therefore write me a check for over $2500 every year to spend on books, transportation, etc. Obviously I’m not going to be bummed if that doesn’t happen, though!

you guys, I’m sorry but I just have to discuss possible rejections here.

Do you think its stupid that I’m getting so paranoid here and my list of colleges I’m applying to has grown to 15?

I know I know, but for an international needing aid…

I’m an international needing aid too. My list has 18. Paranoia is normal. :)

Oh yay, so I’m not crazy. People here give me strange looks when I say I’m applying to the States (Australia and UK is common here, but I love the liberal arts ed you guys have) so when I say 12 colleges (which my list was originally) people are like what the hell. Even those that are applying to US colleges.

But dammit, its better to be safe than sorry. I have fee waivers. :)

Haha fee waivers is a…strange addition to that line.

BUT YES. I think I’m applying to more schools than anyone in the history of my school.

Where are you from again?

Malaysia. I wonder if the competition is less intense than for someone from India.

Without fee waivers, my parents would probably balk at the amount of money. Lol. $1 = RM3.5

sigh i don’t want to mention acceptions and rejections for another couple weeks…
but whatever happens, happens i guess :)

haha
acceptions?

but no matter what, i have the best post #
1234 :P

Cool it’s looks like more and more new people are joining the thread! Nice to meet all of you and your amazing usernames, like QuasiProfound. I guess I just have an affinity for weird names.
