Hmm, favorite sports? Well, I love running, but that’s also partially because I run. Cross country (and track I guess) FTW! I also do swimming, but I like watching that a lot more than actually doing it.

Tennis is great too, and I used to love mixed martial arts. I plan on picking both up again in college!

On an unrelated note, anyone else do Project Euler? I’ve been doing the problems on and off for about a year now and love it.

Hey guys! I’m new to CC though I’ve basically been on for almost a year now reading you guys’ posts! haha (that’s so sad). Anyways, good luck everyone and I can’t wait until D Day!

Hey, so one of my friends in school applied to Columbia Early, and she learned about a week ago that Columbia requested her counselor for more information about her. Apparently, their desire to know more about her makes her a debatable candidate, probably deferral (according to her); has anyone else heard of Colleges who are on the borderline request more information? I wonder if this is a regular practice (like if you don’t get this, you’re either rejected or accepted) or unique to Columbia

@paddy, there is a giant, gaping void in my schedule where calc used to be… if i were any more depressed that i wasnt taking a calc/advanced math class (stats lololololol) this year i might vomit, vomit.

After I finish up all my college apps/interviews I’m thinking about asking my old calc teacher if he has any advanced math literature i could peruse to keep myself sharp and to actually do somthing besides bang my face against the wall while waiting for the second simester of senior year to end (I’m sure alot of you can relate, as this is kind of a “senior year round two” for those of us who pretty much took all senior level classes last year…)

hey so Sarah Palin is giving a speech at OU today. Anyone have any opinions on her haha? Haha I know we can get a lot of posts on this subject ;)

Welcome to all the new guys! Please enjoy your time here and join in the conversations as we all wait for decisions day!

Sorry I haven’t been posting as much; I’ve basically come home from school and napped most of the day away before doing HW since Thanksgiving break ended, haha.

I’m actually going to be away all this weekend, and I don’t know whether or not I’ll have internet access in the meantime. I’m going to North Carolina to visit my sick uncle.
I’ll be back by Monday, and on Tuesday I’ll make the official REA decisions thread.

Anyway, that aside, I do have one discussion topic that I’ve been curious about.
What schedule do you guys’ schools operate on?

I have seven classes a day, with the same schedule all year. Each class is about 50 minutes long. I start school at 7:30 (Groan! Last year it was 8:20; they changed it) and I get out at 2:20 ish. I only have two periods after lunch, which is cool, because the day feels like it goes by quickly.

Hold your breath!
and at least you don’t start at 7am…I don’t even have 0 period but I have to show up anyways since I live ridiculously far from my school. Pooooo. Thank goodness I have 5 classes this year. Made my senior year semi-chill. I needed an art and really wanted film studies…so glad I decided to take that class.
Congrats on 300th post !

My school does block scheduling. On mondays we have all 7 classes, then four each day switching off from tuesday-friday. We have an 8th block we use for activities/clubs.

Block FTL, we take 8 courses each simester, 4 classes for an hour and a half each day. we start at 7:35 (7:40? i dont really pay attention) except on wensdays, we start @8:00 on wensdays

start school at 9 (still too early for me) and get out at 4:15
seven periods
open campus
i take five classes - six periods since ap bio is a double block at hour school
