Stanford 2014 SCEAers

i think my problem is that I am only on this thread, I need to subscribe and post on more threads to get up to 299 and then wait for my decision.
Any recommendations to other threads?

haha pwnage would have been hilarious… haha.
And we also turned everything into and adverb by adding -ly . we were ridonkulous ;D

SAT would be totally meaningless in front of GPA for me…
If somebody just works around with a 2.X GPA for the entire High School Life, and gets a 2400 on the SAT, will that be fair enough in comparison to a consistent 3.5+er?

@sarbaraj
I forget where I heard this, but a college rep told me that if there’s a discrepancy between an applicant’s SAT and GPA, they would rather see a low SAT and a high GPA - a high SAT and low GPA just means you’re lazy.

The likelihood of a 2.X student getting a 2400 is low.

However, someone with a 1700 on the SAT could still have a 3.5+. GPA is very easy to inflate.

GPA isn’t standardized and really doesn’t mean that much since your Calc 3 class could be way different from my Calc 3 class. Or in any other classes. And so much depends on the teacher. SAT is at least standardized.

i got probably about 400 in the “waiting for SAT/ACT scores threads”

although obviously that may not be an option for you, just peruse the boards of other colleges and see if any advice/comments you may have might be universal enough to address their problems, I mean there are plenty of other threads on just the Stanford board that you could reply to, let alone all the other active college boards…

@sarba, no because 2400s are no where near that coveted, in fact they are reasonably common and not a super significant advantage over the 2200 averageing accepted applicant pool, if you get a 2400 you still need a solid GPA and other exceptional qualities…

well I’m going to bed now. How many of you guys bought a calender for the specific reason of counting down days until the 15th?

calenders make things take longer

I’ve been putting big X’s on my planner, counting down the days.

im so sick of caring about this, sorry for breaking the rule, but I expect to be rejected but I still can’t move on to more important things, I’m just so suck on this.

Me too, I’m about 88% sure I’ll be rejected, but this has grown on me. MEH
ANYWAYS
Onto happier subjects
I’m going to write a song, record it with my friend, and put it on youtube this week, hopefully before friday. Maybe just maybe they’ll change their minds if they already decided what to do with me.

and I’ll dedicate some of it to you guys (:
besides, I really want post 3456 xD

Do not break the rule.

haha if you want you can send it to me and i can throw in a drum track to it…

im sort of kidding but kind of not really…

oh, and it shall be in the tune of a Backstreet Boys song.

3456!!!

@Anon, to be fair though A. It was at the bottom of the page, and B. It was only a minor infraction because i only talked about my rejection not the eventuality that we all won’t make it in.

an eventuality that of course wont come to furition…

OH WHAT THE HECK CHEATER
xD

dude 10 char

@diglett, regardless :P

hardcore/double bass backstreet boys much?
