I just have my roommate essay left. I wrote one and everyone told me it wasn’t revealing enough about me. Ugh.

Another Stanford hopeful, and I’ve yet to submit the supplement. Good luck to everyone!

From a REA applicant… good luck to all of you! Hopefully you’ll all have much better luck than I did. :)

Do we get an application status page? I’ve gotten one from HYP, but Stanford is lagging behind… by a lot…

How do decisions come out for Stanford?

@keellota: you would have to check AXESS for your application status; right now the admission office isn’t open for calls, but I think we get our decisions early/mid-April.

It says a date on the website, but usually the office is nice and posts decisions earlier!

couldn’t help but comment on the “you never should submit something before a deadline unless there is a good reason”. In the context of this thread I assume you’re referring to Stanford applications or any admissions application for that matter.

There actually is an advantage to submitting early. The readers I know (I know two) say that they have more time to consider an application and read the entire essay(s) thoughtfully when they receive the app early, such as in September through November…but once January February hits they are jamming to get through them all and there’s more of a chance they’ll miss something important especially in the essays, something that could make the difference between a yes and a no.

and schools like Stanford will use multiple readers.

My Stanford supplement essays are pretty ridiculous; they’ll definitely make a good story if I’m accepted.

So who’s sending in the application tomorrow? Do I have any fellow procrastinators?

Sent in my application earlier today :D

I sent my app in a few days ago, but I’ve been editing a friend’s Stanford essays today and yesterday. He still has two more to write…

I’m proofreading now.

Yay, less than a month!! Does anybody else think it’s kind of funny (or maybe that isn’t the correct word to use) that they release admissions letters on April Fool’s Day?

If they release decisions like they have in past years, they’ll release the decisions the Friday before April 1, which is March 25 this year.

Seconded ^^^

How’s everyone feeling besides the usual worry?

I’ve been scrounging the nets for admissions counselor interviews and all (any top school, not just Stanford)… Trying to find ways to reassure myself. Reflecting. Knowing that I’ll wind up wherever I truly need to be.

I’m generally avoiding thinking about it. I have a lot of work, and I’m cramming for the AP’s. So, I’m somewhat distracted.

I’m conflicted between “fate” and what I could have done to remedy a possibly rejection/waitlist. This whole process really puts your high school years in a different perspective. However, if I do get rejected from the majority of schools, I don’t want to be self-deprecating and regret the decisions I’ve made these past few years…so essentially, I’m just feeling very conflicted right now in my attempt to stay positive.

Actually?? I guess that’s good that we’re finding out early but ahhh!! I’m not emotionally prepared, haha. I was deferred from the REA round and knew they released their decisions the Friday before December 15… I didn’t know it was the same for RD!!

how do they notify us? through email??

They send an email with the website you can go to to check your decision I think. Whatever way they did with REA.
And we will most likely find out Friday!!! :o Anxiety is creeping in…

Just chiming in to wish RD’ers good luck!
