I’m definitely going to apply!

Can you take the October or November SAT and still apply SCEA?

I’m definitely going to apply!

Can you take the October or November SAT and still apply SCEA?

^ I think October is the last possible testing date for all EA programs.

Ok, thanks!

Stanford is absoluetly my dream school! It was practically my first word. I have never been able to picture myself at any other place. I am considering an early app, but if not then of course my second choice is berkeley

Naturally.

Count me in. I have trouble deciding whether to apply EA or RD.
But if Stanford really does emphasize on your passion, maybe I stand a chance.
I have never done any community services, summer programs (school’s holiday just 2 freaking weeks!), but I do have a passion in arts!
along with nationally recognized art-journalism awards.

^ Don’t feel bad about not having participated in any prestigious summer programs. Judging from the results threads, it definitely doesn’t seem to be an unspoken “requirement” for admission. Adcoms know that different students have had different opportunities presented to them, and these may or may not include summer programs like TASP and RSI. What matters more is what those students do with the opportunities they ARE given. :)

thanks for the reassurance fledgling.
maybe I’ll just fill ‘go to Bali’ for the summer hol question. LOL

Yeah, I’m also having trouble deciding between SCEA and RD.

I’m definitely a Stanford 2015 hopeful! I’m interested in Linguistics
This summer I plan on touring the campus, and while I’m completely excited to, I’m scared I will fall in love with it so much that it will hurt to get my rejection letter.
This will be an exciting fall. Exciting, but nervewracking.

Note: Stanford is REA not SCEA. it’s essentially the same thing but it just bothers me :P

another hopeful here! I think I’m going to apply REA- at first, I shunned the school because it was so close to home (like 15-20 minutes away O_o) but that helped in getting connections to the school, and once I visited, I fell in love with the housing system and the open mind approach everyone has. I think the dealbreaker was the one line that my tour guide said to us “Someone at Stanford told me that your major doesn’t dictate what you do in life, but what approach and viewpoint you’re going to bring to whatever you do later in life”. I have the stats- SATs and GPA but barebone “academic extracurriculars” because my passion is in cosmetology and music…I don’t know if that would hurt me…

For those of you who said that you were also applying to Berkeley, check this out:

It’s funny. And by no means do I mean to insult Berkeley; I just think it’s funny.

^ Lol, that reminds me of this:

^ lol this too

Let’s go Stanford, a little far away, but if I get in its definitley worth it. Possibly the only school I apply to not on the east coast; and its on the west coast so thatll be a long trip

^ The colleges I’m applying to are all over the place. So far I have two on the East Coast, two on the West Coast, one in the Midwest, and one in Canada… potentially one in the UK as well :p

The schools that I’m applying to on the West Coast are Stanford and UC Berkeley, largely due to the fact that they are my father and mother’s respective alma maters.

Am a hopeful applicant as well (: As a resident of Southern California, I’m not sure if I can live without the sun, and Stanford is the only HYP-caliber school that offers that (:

I’m basically going half and half with East Coast/West Coast schools. I’m from California, and prefer the climate there, but I’ve lived in the Northeast long enough to be able to cope with nasty weather. Having said that, if I got in, I’d definitely pick Stanford over anywhere else.
